The analog tab should be setup to none, and the serial tab should be set to the LC1. If its not talking to your laptop either though you can almost bet its the LC-1. Did you go back over the LC1 instructions again just to make sure you've done everything correctly?

thanks for clearing up the tabs. When i do get it working right, will the AFR show up in the gauge function? "F2"

I thought i had done everything right with the wideband installation, i will go over it again just to make sure.

Yea the AFR will show up there and right beside it will be the intended AFR value from your table. So it will look like (14.7,14.1) for example. I think I remember something tricky about the mini-din outputs for the serial connection. Like you had to have the plug installed in one of them and the other one was for the serial port. I think this was for the reason of connecting multiple widebands together. If you got this part messed up it wouldn't work at all. You wouldn't get output to the serial port or from other Widebands.

Check the LC-1 instructions and make sure you have the serial cable and the little black plug in the proper LC-1 connections. They are labeled IN and OUT.

Hey guys,

New to the Miata community and new to this website. (If there is a thread that can answer my questions please point me in the right direction)

Long story short I am using the AEM EMS 4 for my engine management, using a 3 bar MAP sensor, and a AEM IAT sensor. Reading this thread has been every helpful but still have a few questions.

I have heard/read some threads stating that you have to calibrate the IAT and the MAP sensor. How do you do about doing this? Via the AEM engine management or some other way?

Also, I have heard something about modifying the TPS sensor? (other than using the wiring from it to connect to the MAP sensor)

Just trying to really understand what exactly needs to happen before I start diving into this.

My goal is to get the turbo on the car and have it properly wired and take it to the local shop to get tuned by a professional. (They want $10,000 just to get it ready to be tuned)

Thanks guys!
