Been waiting to do my VVT & MK swap until I had a reliable daily in the stable. Now it's time!

OK swappage commencing!

The igniter rewire pic on the VVT swap thread has been wrong forever. Here's what it looks like corrected:

Is this the correct pinout for the NB cam sensor (CMP)?

Bought a FM heat shield & a FM CAI box about a year ago to see if they would fit with my MK kit. It looks like the heat shield fits with a little bit of relief grinding on the upper lip. The CAI box is going to be a little bit trickier. I ordered up a 135° and a 45° elbow. We'll see if that does the trick.

Don't forget to get a bigger bra after getting a VVT boob job.

I've just about got the MK turbo to play nice with the FM airbox. I used a 135* and a 45* elbow.

I had to open up the hole a bit to make things fit. Nothing a little speed tape can't class up.

The old exhaust manifold gasket should roughly represent the level of the hood. It's getting just about dialed.

Intercooler mounted. Shamelessly stole the mount location from Aiden. I think I bent every fin on that thing goofing around with fitment.

I think I've got my IC fitment sorted out, although I'm a little worried about tire clearance. There's ~2 1/4" clearance between the tires and IC pipes with the car on jacks and the wheels at full lock. Other than that, I think it's just a matter of sealing back up the holes I hacked in the under tray.

passenger side w/wheel @ full lock

driver's side w/wheel @ full lock

Pretty much buttoned up here. I'm waiting on a couple clamps to put the hot side IC pipes back in, and some fuel hose.

More importantly, stickers:

Shiiiiiiit... Coolant reroute spacer is leaking. Guess it's better to find it now before I'm on the road.

coolant reroute leak patched up. Now I'm loading my map & calibrating sensors. My VVT OCV solenoid is making racket with the key on/engine off and TS VVT output set to off. This seems fishy.

Unplug it. Get the car working without VVT, then add it back in later.

Nice work man keep it up. I did the same swap/turbo install as this last year and it was one heck of a project. But definitely learned a lot.

Sound advice. I'm more worried that I've cross wired it with something else. I have some MM testing in my future.

Car no start. Here's what the composite log looks like. This looks at least like I'm getting a signal from both the cam & crank, but it looks kinda hosed up. Any intuition as to what I've done wrong?

hmmm... RPM in the log never went above 180. I'm used to seeing cranking RPM in the 3-500 RPM range. It sounded like normal cranking speed...
