ok, heres how i connected my IAT sensor.
Attachment 185617 when it's plugged in like this, im getting around 1-2 degrees (Celsius) at idle after the car is warm. when i unplug it, the MAT reads 20-21 degrees (Celsius). would it be better to log this? by the way, will i damage the car by driving it like this? |

BUt the screenshots of the datalog shows readings from 1.4 to 15.6°C - which doesn't sound too bad for me for winter time... (@rhysmate - what where the actual outside temps again?)
|
So I don't see what is wrong with your readings - with an efficient intercooler your intake temps after the IC won't exceed your outside temp very much...
All 4 screenshots show MAT between 7-8 °C and rising to a max of 15.6°C when going into boost - at ~4-5°C outside temp I would consider this as normal... Greets |

I'm glad you got it worked out.

I had the same problem i hooked the vacuum lines up wrong to the wastgate and when it hit boost it went round to about 20psi. Wasnt so good for the engine. Air compressor works a treat though

Here's a crappy video..

Feels better than naturally aspirated, huh?
You can buy a lower psi wastegate actuator on ebay pretty cheap. Just make sure it will bolt to your bracket and has the right rod length. I changed from an "7psi wastegate" that was giving me 10+psi to a "3psi wastegate" that gives me a solid 7psi. Then I use a Greddy Profec B boost controller to go up from 7. Now I have two settings, 7psi when the controller is off and 10psi when it is on. The controller actually has two settings, so when I build my engine I could actually have three levels. It has proven useful on the track to have the wastegate only setting which is more gentle with boost onset when there is moisture on the racing surface. |
Its outrageous how different.. its the most fun ive ever had in a car.. as soon as I did my first pull I put the s2000 up for sale.. it just doesnt give me the same buzz..
I have friend with a lot of turbos as he rebuilds them, I might ask him for one.. is table switching easy to set up? |
By the way, I set up my rev limiter to 6 out of 9 sparks and its really fast.. I set up a spark only cut and got no flames which made me a bit sad
|
Nice man, congrats. Nothing like a turbo miata, i love mine.

Finally got my 460 injectors.. what apart from the req fuel do I need to adjust? Im assuming that idle will be funny now?

It might need a little tweaking but not much. You will want to let VEAL work on the fuel to make up for any irregularities after you get done. And you will likely be tuning a few new cells in the higher KPA regions of your map. Keep doing it incrementally like before.

I can't wait till i'm at this point in my build! Hopefully I will be where you are by this time next year!

Stretched tires and very little available suspension travel before contact with the bump stops won't help much with maintaining traction. Faster doesn't always look as "cool", but it will be faster. A little bit of sidewall flex is our friend.
