i know what ya mean man, the thought crossed my mind when i dropped the car.. i have a set of CE28 copies lined up for track days which i hope to do soon.. plus a set of adjustable top arms to sort the camber.. you'd be surprised about the suspension travel though! its pretty good for how low i am.. I need coilovers bad :(

So im getting a misfire under heavy load every so often.. my thought are the spark plugs, so im ordering a new set.

I'll also check the leads and see for cracks. hopefully its something small

Please post a log.

sixshooter 03-13-2013 06:42 AM

Are your plugs gapped down to .025-.028 or so? If not, they should be.

I dont think so, i had forgotten to look into it. i've ordered these

NGK BKR7E-11 Sparkplug Set, MX5 Mk1 2 2.5 - MX-5 Ignition Leads and Sparkplugs for MX5 Mk2 2.5 1998 2005, MX-5 Ignition Leads and Sparkplugs for MX5 Mk1 1989 1998 - MX5 Parts Spares

and will gap them correctly. I wont drive the car until i sort it out.

Braineack 03-13-2013 08:18 AM

That must be my misfire issue. Although I do have a shit idle. My afr gauge reads between 13 and sometimes even 18 afr just idlong . It seems fine while driving though. Could it be my map, or would it be to do with my plugs too

you can see here in the middle of the screen that at idle my afr is around 15, and when i pull off it drops to 9 and goes normal. this is even after using VEAL so is it something else? my plugs or maybe leads? or an idle setting?

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363214070

also, i noticed that on wot the duty cyle dips every so often?

like here
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363214070

First teething problems..

rhysmate 03-14-2013 11:27 AM

can anyone give me a direction on this.. ive found a few threads that outline my issue but none resolve it.. I'm just going Really lean on idle after a hot start. It driving me nuts, do i need to enrichen my VE table? or are there parameters i need to alter elsewhere..

This just kind of....fell out
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363348920

Can someone assist in the idle issue?

sixshooter 03-19-2013 03:02 PM

Research "coolant related air density" and see if you can find something on a modification to the msq to allow MS to adjust differently for the MAT. I did it but remember next to nothing about it.

Also make sure the MAT sensor is outside the engine bay or else it will heat soak and read erroneously when warm. Behind the radiator is bad.

rhysmate 03-19-2013 07:26 PM

This could be my issue.. my sensor is right below the intake and next to my bov. Behind the Rad... balls.... should I put it in the inter cooler?
