Not a car update, but I did clean the garage out and built a few shelves to ge things off the floor, so I thought I'd snap a quick pic

And one at night which I thought came out cool. Wish I used my real camera but I still can't find the battery charger for it....sigh

home depot, they were 10 bucks a piece.

*edit*

These are the ones I have, and they've doubled in price! I bought them last christmas. They were the cheapest ones I could find that could turn on in below freezing temps

Messing around on the way up to a car show this past Sunday, my buddy filmed it. 4th gear, shifting at around 6000 RPMs.

Sounds great- and not nearly as loud as I thought it would be. Must feel good to be toolin' around in it after all the work... getting me inspired.

298.6whp 270ft/lbs tq to the rear wheels @18.2 psi. Peak power was right around 7000 RPMs. Rev limit set at 8500 RPMs.

I took a bunch of video, I'll try and upload it later tonight.

Here is the proof

Boost and AFR

Congrats on the 300. You're in the moderate power club now
I don't see much of a point in revving past 7100 in this car though. Just drops. Does your timing taper up past peak boost or stay the same?

^ I agree. 7500rpm seems like a sensible rev limit to me. Great numbers matey

Thanks Astro- you should hear it now, sounds way different (still just as loud though...ha)

It's holding up OK. There are a couple spots where it's flaking off, about the size of a fingerprint (wonder how that happened....)

I agree with you both. I wanted that extra RPM for those cases when it would be more beneficial to ride out the gear vs having to grab the next gear for a couple seconds. I forget what he did with the timing, I'd have to look that up.

Plus 8500 is badass.

Nice numbers!! Your plot doesn't lie, the extra revs are just a waste of time and will do nothing but slow you down, create heat, and probably unwanted stress.

I can't remember if you are a 1.6 or 1.8, but stroke is 83.6 and 85mm respectively. Rod length for both engines is 132.9mm. In comparison the f20c has a bore of 84mm and rod length of 153mm. So why does the f20 rev so eagerly while the B engine falls on its face? IMO the head, the B is a very old design while the f20 is a much newer platform, aided by the time honda spent in both F1, IRL, and motorcycles.

The little b engine is hamstrung with poor flow characteristics, which will always be the limiting factor in high redline number...sure you might be able to twist it up there, but you are not gaining anything performance wise. Proof is in your plot.

Who cares about max redline anyway? All that matters is your car rocks hard when you push on the fun pedal!!

AWESOME JOB!!

A nice intake manifold would do wonders for you. Let you rev as high as you want with no face falling action.

EDIT: Even with a stock intake manifold your torque shouldn't be falling so fast. Hmm..either way, 300whp is damn good. I bet it comes on hard as hell, too.
