You are right, its built for it but not to be a complete *** about it, but I'm kinda interested to see what goes first. I can't imagine 5-600 actually hooking up in a Miata, and if it does...

I'm not as concerned about hooking up at the track. But on the street is a different story. It will definitely be interesting.

As for what breaks first? I have no idea! Been talking about that with a few people. Everything is meant to take a lot of power but taking a lot of abuse is a different story.

Not gonna lie, I've considered abandoning the project a few times along the way when progress wasn't happening and money was just being spent.

Can't wait to get it out there! There should be a lot of videos once this thing is running

For our application, or direction, we can't compare the 6258 to the 7163. The 6258 is perfect for autocross and track duty and +/-300hp.

But if you want I'll eat the flue in the corner as well so you don't feel lonely.

Car finally moved today which means progress should be pretty steady since it's 15 minutes from home and down the street from my work.

Meant to take pictures of the completed hot side while it was together but wanted to get moving on the car and forgot.

Here's a pic of my wastegate dump with all the pie cuts ever

Some photos of the completed exhaust work stolen from the Glease Manufacturing facebook page.

A straight through didn't work anymore with the rx7 diff as I had mentioned before. John fixed this with a few pie cuts.

I also didn't like how short the tip was so I had him extend it a bit. It's a little long but hopefully I won't melt my bumper now.

Completed hotside:

This morning after work I headed to the garage to do some more work on the car. Pulled out the engine, trans, exhaust, and front subframe to do some more prep on the engine bay. I always thought my car was relatively clean until I started going at it with degreaser. Apparently all that textured black stuff I thought was just undercoating was actually road grime from 23 years. Made some decent progress but will be back at it again tomorrow morning. Engine bay should be primered by end of day tomorrow, ready to be pained.

I'm going with mariner blue on the top half above the "shelf". The lower half will be flat black so it can always look cleanish.

Just due to the color and how much you stripped it down I just had some horrible dejavu.

Get it done son! Good work man.

While going through the little bit of cleaning up that I am I don't understand how you could have brought yourself to do as much as you did. I don't think I could handle much more than this at once.

Masked off the car and painted the lower portion of the engine bay. Will go back in a couple days to spray the upper half.

I already hate any kind of painting related work. Can't wait to get back to putting the car together!

I'm about to begin this.. Not looking forward to it. Body work is for the birds. Anything special going on in the interior?

Not until later in the season. Focusing on engine for now

Speaking of which, where is the engine?

Pashko told me you guys just talked.

I mean, you can get an engine that will just do "okay" and maybe not blow up, to one that will do what you want it to do.

Did you talk to you about what his CnC capabilities are at this point? I talked him out of doing any research into anything but 99+ heads.

He's not setup to CnC heads yet.

We talked but the original machine shop came through. If the engine isn't done by next weekend the head is going to Pashko since that's what's left.

So I'm pretty happy right now. First day/night of my 3.5 month layoff and I got a solid amount of progress done. Finished prep work, primed, painted, and cleared the bay. Going to let it sit for a couple days before touching anything.

Extremely pleased with how the black and blue combo came out, especially for everything being done with rattlecans!

One day I'll actually bring a real camera out to the garage rather than my phone.

While I wait for things to fully dry and for my engine to show up I'm going to get started on my subframe tomorrow and then start putting the engine bay back together.

Not sure how far into the wiring you've gotten but we're putting this together and it might be a great time to consider it.

That looks really tempting. After we get into setting up for making this harness I'll know if it's something I could use a bit better

@Jeffbucc, I am starting to see how you let your OCD take over you while putting your car together. Started on my control arm bushings which has me pulling apart the subframe and degreasing everything before putting things back together. I have to remind myself it'll all just get dirty when I get caught in the rain the first time.

Also started on putting the brake lines back in but decided to tuck them away as much as possible to make everything look tidy.
