Well I pulled my motor and figured out -

That's the sound your car makes if your flywheel bolts come loose!

Fluids were clean

I think he used some sort of thread sealant there. I used loctite red. I dread the day I have to take those off... But they're not ******* coming out till then. Maybe even then actually lol.

I'm pretty ---- about those bolts. I number them and put them back in the same holes. I also clean them with brake cleaner and liberally apply blue Loctite. So far, I have never had any back out on me. I probably will, now that you have cursed me. Dammit.

Kinda ironically funny that you can't say ---- on a Miata forum!

Well mine has an FM2 clutch now, so I really hope it doesn't have to come out for a good long while. I also RTV'ed the snot out of the RMS area from the outside because I didn't like how the gasket was sitting in there even after I pulled the oil pan twice and tightened it down.

Did you use the wrong gaskets?

Rtv from the outside usually always leaks

Nah, RTV from the inside spread exactly like it was supposed to. That's just how the gasket wanted to sit. I bothered Sean and sent him a picture before pulling the pan for the N-th time and he said it looked fine and not like the gasket that I think ryansmoneypit posted a picture of ages ago in a thread where the China gasket was popping all the way out. Sean said it looked like the rubber was just compressing like it was supposed to.

I just put RTV on the outside too a few days later when everything was dry because I was paranoid and I have to live up to my reputation somehow...

I've never used so much blue loctite on bolts till now, pretty sure I only used my air compressor to torque those down before - Not a good idea

Oh you know, just my exhaust cam - the lobe on the camshaft didn't allow the cam gear to seat fully with a washer in place - also a wheel and a fuel line too!

When you have it, be sure to post that virtual dyno. 300hp for the win!
