A 6758 alum supercore on a stock block. I appreciate it. Still waiting to see what BW says; hopefully able to make some use of the last few weeks of a manufacturing warranty.

6258 and 6758 both came out at launch though IIRC, and they use the same turbine wheel/shaft. I'm glad my newest EFR was run hard in an Indy car so it shouldnt have an issue.

Just checked mine. 8/5/2013. Failures were in 11/12, so I guess I should be ok.

Good luck. They should honor it if they stand behind their products, especially since the only use was by the original owner.

Trying to think what I may do if the warranty doesn't happen. Abe has my manifold and downpipe, so I was thinking of going with a gt2560r but a new one is nearly $800 + cost of changing the downpipe is nearly just the cost of a new 6258 core. So might as well go aluminum super core? Lol. Not sure what benefits over the iron core I'd get. At this point durability is my main concern.

Any advice on staying with a build (first true build of a car) after **** happens?

Aluminum super core is lighter, but requires water cooling. Really the only downside

Lighter like CHRA rotating pieces? Already water cooling, so that's a no issue.

Not rotating pieces. Its literally just an aluminum supercore instead of iron.

Literally just the center section housing that supports the bearings, coolant fittings, oil drain, etc is made out of aluminum rather than iron.

Good luck and godspeed on that warranty service.

Yeah, fingers crossed. In the meantime, Abe is building my exhaust hopefully soon. I went full 3 inch with a mangaflow but a lighter one than the big maggie (I am 21, I like noise at least for the next couple years). Hopefully it sounds good and isn't crazy loud.

I have a full FM 2.5 exhaust and downpipe setup. I really should have looked into seeing how much it would have cost to get a 3 inch setup made from the downpipe back...

I know 2.5 isn't *really* going to limit me all that much, but...

BUT

If you are having an exhaust built from scratch, there is literally no reason not to have built at 3"

No I mean it limits spool. I gained like 250rpm of spool from 2.5-3.

Haha I know. I knew that when I bought it too.

I have a stock motor till I decide to take it apart. I'll likely have maybe like 1k-ish for the build if I play my cards right (and eat lots of ramen) so it's probably going to be a basic rods and na8 pistons build. I want to learn to put it together myself add use a machine shop to do the clearances etc. The turbo setup I have has an ewg, so I honestly think the spool should just about even out vs the same setup with a 3 inch exhaust. Should be interesting as there are plenty of 2560 dynos around with both 2.5 & 3.0 inch setups. I'm not trying to break any records here haha.

That said, I bought the fm setup used and in considering putting it up on Craigslist to see if anyone bites. I'm pretty sure that my driveway would ruin a 3 inch exhaust. Like...I'm not even sure if I can lower my car at all without scraping the **** out of it.

In any event, FM claims 16 rwhp/10 rwtq and 200rpm spool difference between their 2.5 and 3 inch exhaust setups, ceterus paribus. So I figured that's what I was giving up.
