Unless your just mounting tires and changing oil, your making a lot more than that. Where I "monkey" at I get 23% of the total bill plus Blue cross paid for by the shop owner.

An average master tech in my area brings in anywhere between $50k-$75k a year, plus side jobs are always nice.

see the big loop, the loom that looks too short... the whole package needs to be cleaned up.


granted its a smaller project, and i ran out of time and had to use general hardware connectors

You know, I did some reading and thinking last night. The braided lines for vacuum/breather hose do definitely have their benefits other than looks. They (had better not) won't deteriorate from heat, they won't collapse, they won't swell, they won't get cut open. That is enough functional justification for the extra cost.

I do not know jack about all the different connectors though. Which type are you using for your vacuum lines? These? Push-loc? I assume the catch cans are the flare type connectors.

Not sensitive at all brother, just bustin' your chops. You're right about the functional advantages of braided line. I am not real familiar with the push-loc system, however, they are less expensive than the AN stuff, it doesn't look as nice but it performs just as well

I understand that, I could of had the car on the road sooner if I had gone a different route, but I really wanted the look of the AN stuff. The bling factor is nice when I pop the hood and get the "holy sh*t I didn't expect that" look from whomever I am showing the car to.

So what kind of connectors did you use for your wastegate and BOV? Just screw in swivel fittings?

Exactly, used nipples that threaded into the BOV and WG, then used -4 swivel fittings. The straight ends are about 1/3 the cost of any fittings with bends. But there are times when you have to use bends.

I used red connectors like those for my AIT sensor and those ******* have ripped out on me two times while I was trying to unplug them. It just happened to me again. They suck. Need a better connector.

dont pull on the wire.

but yeah they suck, i need to order better plugs still.

The number of redlight cameras on Long Island is ridiculous.. I hope they don't add these to the bill.

Even fines are cheaper and the pictures better in the US. Here it's a grainy B&W image and 100 plus dollars for a speed camera.......
