As far as exhaust goes, the novelty of a loud exhaust wears off very quickly if it is on a daily driver. I have a Y8S super muffler, and will be building rear section using his set up to test on the dyno, if there is no power loss I will run it.
Hey I am partially joking with my energy drink catch can but it is also a test:

I want to see if I get less oil coming out of my oil fill cap with the pcv side VTA as well. That's all. Proper Braided lines will come when I can test can fitament with the new manifold and turbo. I would like to mount it on the head on the hotside and drain it to the sump.

My car is retired from daily driving duties. I think I will test the exhaust in stages-- just try a resonator first and then work further back and add another resonator or a muffler if it needs to be less um dramatic.

Come on guys now stop being all wussybucketty. My new "future" hp goal is 550hp. Going to go 100% methanol injection to help me get there. 4" exhaust FTW.

18psi is the new sandbagging queen because with his plentiful E85 and chinacharger he could crush any dyno #s I put out with ease. And his motor would last longer. And be cheaper to run :|

Sean must run 4" because the world needs more 600hp miatas. Plus his driveline is the most capable of any car here.

So what type of issues would arise by going too big an exhaust diameter? As far as I see (other than wieght) the least restrictive the better - but will there be anything noticeable between 3 and 4" (waiting for gay comment). Have fun making that DP! Pics a must -

This article in the latest issue of Modifed compares a 3" to a 3.5" exhaust, and dynos at low and high boost:

http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-11...ech/index.html

100hp gain at 19psi. not bad.

This is a supra motor but CFM puking out the turbine inducer does correlate to HP. So. I would sexpect to see good gains and overall, a more efficient setup by going to an embiggened exhaust.

some try to argue that you slow down gas velocity but since turbos work on enthalpy differential and pressure is a contributor to enthalpy, i'd say it'd work nicely.

the thing you have to keep in mind is that flow requires smooth entry into large volumes or it will have eddies and stagnation. common wisdom (i dont know, search jkav's posts), suggests an 11 degree cone angle from the turbine outlet to the 4" pipe is ideal.

The only major thing I am worried about is space getting it from the front to the back under the car. I have a few cross members that were not there before, but my plane is to fab a 4" down pipe with a turn down. I like a lot of you other guys and Faeflora do not have to worry about emmisions my car goes historic next year so the bigger the better.

Since clearence will be limited on a 4"dp try some solid mmr mounts to keep the engine in place.

Good idea I have mazdaspeed mounts for the engine and the diff in there now but maybe I can go to an MMR on the drivers side.

Got me some new coils! LS2 truck coils! Hopefully they will be powerful enough to vaporize flesh.

Should be around $150 for coils and pigtails and everything I need.

Wiring should be straightforward--

4 wires on the coil-
ground
signal ground
12v
signal

Will take the signal wires from the two factory COPs and also the 12v.
Run two more signal wires into the hydra harness
uh
ground the coils to head
ground the coils to EMS

change dwell table

have at it.

The cheapness made me decide to go for it. The cost of the coils is less than dyno rental and tuner time. I don't want my **** to blow out at 600psi while I am atomizing the atlantic ocean into my motor.

Why don't you just actually FINISH your car and at least enjoy it for a week or two instead of changing **** every time you're close to being done?

Its as if you hate driving the car and constantly finding excuses to have it down and non-operational
