Ever considered an anti-lag set up? I know such a system screws your turbo over time, but I'm not sure how badly or how quickly it gets screwed. A bigger turbo would surely lose you even more time in lag between gears.

Ok hguys thanks for the tips. Yet more tuning **** for me to **** around with.

Hydra can do ALS with either a dedicated valve or the ISC. I am sure tuning it will bring joys upon joys to my life.

Flat **** shounds more appealing and savington says it will not destructor my tranny so I guess I will set that up. That is actually pretty easy.

Oh and my new borg turbo is a dirty ***** that likrs it rough and bounces back easily from being broken with a $150 rebuild kit. That's part of why I got it.

Oh and yay I got my WI splitters in the mail today. Yay. Am also ordering a 5 gallon fuel cell or whatever the largest size is that I can fit in my trubk and still have battery access. Refilling my little half gallon tank is a pain in the butt.

I heard GrahamC on here shaved a fair bit of time in the quarter mile by using flat shift. Definitely worth a shot.

BUT this car uses real anti-lag, therefore you should too. Tenuous link, but any weak excuse to post this Quattro vid is fine by me...!

I need to learn how to setup the Hydra ALS, something I'm definitely tempted to try out at an autox. Faster sp00lz!

That would be perfect in stop and go traffic! Insta als burnouts combined with spark-cut traction control would make my commute much more enjoyable. I need to set this up. Thank you for helping me focus.

that audi uses air recirculation
The compressed air from the intake is pushed into the exhaust manifold when you are off the throttle.

few pics of the manifold

The audi anti-lag system makes me want to build a race-only car with this...

So wait, it sends what would go out the BoV through the exhaust manifold to power the turbo? I've read that some systems use an extra injector to add combustion in the manifold to charge the turbo as well, though it wreaks havoc on the manifold, turbine and downpipe..

I'm genuinely interested in this though. Perhaps with E85 and it's lower EGT you can spare the turbine some stress?

well the air is only part of the equation, still need to send unburnt fuel past vavles into the manifold to mix with the air.

dunno about the e85, makes you wonder though

Unburnt fuel isnt a problem. Rev cut decel instead of fuel cut. done.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Looking good so far but why no divided inlet flange? (don't say "because race car") You could have taken the inner side and ground an angle to it for flow. Now the flows will hit the flat sides/bridge of your QSV, no? This will eat up at least 2 hp.

I hope Abe has better luck welding to weirtech mild flanges than I do.

QSV runs off the principle of using undivided manifold, divided exhaust housing.
