Run at least a 2-3/8" (RB) but 2.5" exhaust preferably. No gains with 3" tubing. Also no gains by going super loud, super low restriction mufflers. Run sensible muffler/resonator.

That header would be happiest on a big P/D blower or C30/C38 Rotrex. If N/A at anything under about 160whp, the primaries are too big (but the correct length).

Anyway, nice to see it found a home where it will be appreciated for what it is.
Thanks!

Yerp i figured we weren't talking about Techsalvager stuff when i saw the bungs (plus they're small).

I have a 949 Laguna exhaust already on the car. It's one the loudest Miatas on the planet, so thanks for that!

It'll make well over 160hp n/a, this header should be perfect. Thanks for visiting! <3

I still have this thing. Not entirely sure why, but it is what it is.

Header is nice. The adapter thing is the most horrendous pile of garbage i've ever seen in my life. It necks down so small that it's causing noticeable power loss up top vs the RB header that was on it before. The 2 bolt flange on the end is also hilariously not-flat. It's also too-long, which makes for a fun install.

I installed it all anyways and now am mad that i did because the person i was going to have cut it all up for v-bands has been busy, and the car is kinda undriveable at the moment because it sounds like **** because of the adapter issues, feels noticeably slow because of the adapter issues, and the whole thing is so crammed together i'm pretty sure it's 1 big bump away from sheering off all kinds of ****.

Did some other things though. Car is ready to rock otherwise.
1) Bridge bolts installed in ooiloooods
2) New pads in said ooiloooods
3) All new fluids because can't remember last time i did them
4) Weight reduction in the form of Dekagrams and RT660s
5) Additional weight reduction in the form of a Koyo 36mm radiator
6) Weighed car to prove steps 4 and 5
7) SHOCK CONDOOOOOMMMSS!! GET YER SHOCK CONDOMS HEEEEERREEEEE SHOCK CONDOMS!!!
8) New battery

Pics to prove things happened.

Cool, cool.

Also cool.

Could use a corner weight, but this is with the fullest of full tanks, no driver. Driver weighs low 140s, so it works out.

Yep i am super sad. If this battery holds up 2 years i'm not mad at it though. It seems to have quite a bit more reserve than the AutoCrafts ever did. Car doesn't seem to give a single **** about sitting for 4 weeks at a time. I did get some Anderson PowerPoles i need to install to help it along, though.

The section at the collector of that header is a venturi. Something we intended to test against the RB but never got around to. We actually built an RB header with the venturi to test but never did that either. Hi-Tech use venturis successfully on a lot of their headers. They did a lot of testing and shows that it worked when everything else is configured for it. The Maxim Works header has a venturi.

But yeah that header is a test prototype so no guarantees that it's the most awesome thing ever. Sure is pretty though. Needs to be on an engine making close to 300 horsepower for those primaries to work though. At 160 it's simply too big. Rotrex, Eaton or something.

Yeah sorry let me clarify: The header is great. The venturi at the header collector isn't my beef. The adapter necks down smaller than that portion... again. Which, i'm no engineer nor do i pretend to be (I got into Miatas presumably so i wouldn't have to think about things and just bolt on parts), but another neck down so soon after the venturi in the header is bad.

I think for the moment i'm going to snag another RB and put it on until my fabricator friend has time to re-work the parts to eliminate the adapter and v-band everything.

I understand that it's a prototype and all that, but from an outsider viewpoint, it's pretty funny that this particular header and exhaust aren't playing super nice. That's not a dig, i understand that neither really made it to production.
