Runs strong and gets out of the hole pretty quickly.

on that track with pretty much no traction i 1-2 gear 0-100kph was logged at 4 seconds, 0-200kph 11.3 seconds not bad for a 26year old miata with a n00b behind the wheel and a unprepped surface.

for a miata, that is really fast and you're not such a n00b

n00b when it comes to launching a car like that i normally just do track events and i tend to not be very hard on drivetrain parts.

i needed to do better than my usual CAD (cardboard aided design) process to install these shifters.. so i did my first attempt at fusion360, after i made a shitty alu guide
I will then 3d print my design, and have it cut from 4mm carbonfiber to hold the paddles, and a few buttons for stuff like changing the display on the dashlogger, and selecting neutral gear from the steeringwheel.

3d print was ok. Will do a few small tweaks. And then get it cut in carbonfiber.

here is how it will look when installed

lower righ buttons will be for the Neutral switch. and to change pages on the display of the dashlogger.
The right will be a 6 position rotary switch to choose low boost with wet mode tractioncontrol , low boost dry traction, low boost no tractioncontro, high boost wet traction mode, high boost dry tractioncontro, and high boost no tractioncontrol.

Got the plate behind the steeringwheel, and longer paddles machined from 4mm carbonfiber plate. feels good.
Buttons test mounted to see how they would light up. There will be a small arduino controlling a few of the button functions in the car including the light so they dim down when its dark inside the car.
a few more parts to design and make before the final installation of the gearbox in my car, but any progress is still progress

designing the parts to adapt a 7 speed DCT gearbox to a miata flywheel..
Adapterplate(without spline for now) is designed and will be 3d printed to test fitment in a few days. This will allow me to bolt the getrag 7 speed up to a mx5 re-using the flywheel and starter gear.
Trying to make this so every bit of the project can be replicated if anyone else wants to go down this way later on.

Engine is out of the car to start fitting the DCT transmission.

The engine still looks badass after 10 years

My shiny new parts
Just a centerpiece left and the getrag DCT will be a bolt on solution for a MX5 BP engine

also had to modify the transmission tunell a bit since this gearbox is a big MF. its atleast 4" wider at the lower part than a stock gearbox. But hey.. everything fits with an angle grinder and a welder
