hustler's "driver shame" thread
that's funny because before I got rid of the oem latches, I had the exact same problem. sometimes I would be driving and the bolt would fall into my lap or hit my arm! the locktite didn't work because I could see it on the bolt.
I know on my soft top those torx bolts were hand tight. One fell out at the track (top was up) and hit my instructor in the helmet. He did not feel safe from then on and suggested I go over the entire car and tighten everything. hahahahaha.

Yeah. Its becoming too much of an event to drive so it only sees the street about once per month. It was a really hot summer though, maybe I'll drive it more now that we've dropped below 105*.
You can split the box, take out the coils, and then tape the small holes that are left...saves a few pounds.
The dash is easy to take out, and everything underneath it plus the interior gone makes a HUGE difference in the feel and performance of the car. Running nothing inside but a Corbeau, dash bar, cluster, and MS inside of it for a few months was FUN.
Hard to live without a heater core too long though.

So I will be able to feel a change from taking the soft top out? It was pretty cool to work the rain rail out and right before I sat it down I thought, "man, my arms and back are starting to hurt, this thing is heavy." That's awesome.
I want to get it down to 2250 at the most before I hit the track for a 2-day next weekend. I really want to go lower but its about to go on the scales so I don't want to change anything after I balance it.

Got a fresh look at Hallett this weekend.
You can get pretty aggressive with the inside curbs, but I'd keep the outside tires on the track on most corners.
I was using the curbs on turns 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9. I found that kissing the curb on T8, instead of driving over it, allowed me to get on the brakes with a lot less drama and really helped my entry into "The Bitch" (T9).
I found with T5, you can use a lot of grass or no grass. If you are in-between there is a nasty bump where the curbing ends and the inside edge of the track is.
There were only a couple of corners where I'd get the outside tires on or near the curbing, and those were T5 and T9.

Its not that expensive, just hold-out for 949's club sports, then when more money falls out of the sky buy the pillow uppers. That was my plan.
Yeah, i am on stance coilovers now and they are doing the job to the best of my driving abilities, i dont think im at a point with my driving yet that an incredible dampner would really help me....
But that being said i havent driven a car with that yet so it could very well be quite a difference.
The canadian modified car scene is stuck at circa NOPI 1999
