To do this week:
1) Remove power steering and replace steering rack with a unit i bought from Vorschlag
2) Swap out ID1000s in favor of stock injectors
3) Swap out 550/350 springs for 700/400 that will be here soonish
4) Sport brake install
5) Plug oil drain at pan
6) timing belt/water pump
7) Have valve cover, intake manifold powdercoated

Then re-evaluate.

Got a care package from V8 Roadsters. $25.17 shipping. Medium flat rate, but shipped Fedex. Shandelle is a sweetheart, i love his parts, and i'm ok with another long wait time (ordered October 4th), but...

Too bad I just now found this thread. I could have shipped you most of your wish list on page 1 in one big box!

concealer404 10-31-2017 09:06 PM

PM me with what you've got. Still after the world's nicest shifter surround (black only), some super clean door panels (or else i'll just LRBs and wrap them myself), NB2 hvac control panel/box, BP5A ecu, and NB2 tails.

Steve Dallas 10-31-2017 09:23 PM

I have the stuff you already bought.

I really need to get around to making a for sale thread in the classifieds, but a lot of my junk would probably sell better on m.net, unfortunately.

Good looking build so far, but where's the trubo?

In a box. For sale. You should buy it.

I want a pair of those motor mounts too, maybe we're supposed to paint them :dunno:

I'm going with no, based on other examples i've seen.

I'm finding it pretty hard to stay motivated between this and Racing Beat's bullshit.

sonofthehill 11-01-2017 11:33 AM

Sorry to hear it.

ridethecliche 11-01-2017 03:34 PM

It's generally frustrating to me when places don't offer usps since it's often cheaper for the customer. I just paid 5-10 bucks more for shipping for something from CA that was sent Fedex... Except it's going to take more time to get here. So I paid extra for something to get here late and now I won't get it before the weekend so I won't be able to install it when I have time.

I legit see it as folks being lazy when it comes to shipping. At least offer flat rate...

Your picture just takes the cake though. That's bogus.

concealer404 11-01-2017 03:38 PM

I don't really have that much issue with the shipping costs. He shipped Fedex. I'm sure it cost $25 to do that. It's just a "sigh" moment to see it in a flat rate. It's nowhere near as bad as Goodwin shipping my M-Tuned brackets in a box the side of a Miata trunk earlier this year.

My issue is the 4 week wait for parts i needed weeks ago, to end up with an order that is incomplete and useless. I will order from V8R again, because for some stuff, he's just the only game in town, and i like his parts, and i like talking to him. But this one is harder to swallow, since he wasn't the only game in town for ANY of the parts that i ordered this time.

sixshooter 11-01-2017 04:44 PM

Shandelle probably didn't say it because he's not wanting anybody to feel sorry for him but he had a horrific car accident and totaled his NC with the LFX swap and has been in the hospital for the last few weeks having his leg rebuilt. He's not one to make excuses typically but I think some need to be made for him in this case. He's just gotten back home but is mostly immobile and pretty fucked up.

concealer404 11-01-2017 04:57 PM

Ugh. :( I'm really sorry to hear that. :(

I hadn't heard anything from anyone. Haven't had any contact with him since the order was placed. That sucks super bad. I'll be sure to wish him a fast recovery over the phone.

Eunos91 11-01-2017 05:33 PM

I would advise against the delrin diff mounts. I briefly ran PU diff bushings and instantly started hating my car. Went back to IL Motorsport rubber mounts (40% stiffer than stock, like Mazda Motorsport mounts) but still wayyyy better than PU, let alone delrin, in terms of NVH.

I had Poly in my old MSM. Hated them because they were mushy. Felt no increase in NVH, nor improvement in control. Total waste of money and my time, in my opinion.

Purple car has delrin diff mounts. They're awesome. No increase in NVH that i can tell, shifts feel great.

The purple car was perfect last year for DD duties other than exhaust noise, not having a stereo, or A/C. I'm literally just building that car again. But with a quieter exhaust, full interior, and A/C. (And softer 62 duro mounts instead of AWR 70s, but the AWRs would have been 100% ok.)

Eunos91 11-01-2017 05:39 PM

Aye, go ahead then :) just wanted to warn you in case you didn't have any experience in that regard.
