Worked a little towards getting the car ready for a cage. Got the old seats out and the roll bar is mostly unbolted. Put the new OMP in just to see it there; not bolted down yet.

Ok, this looks weird...

Been 9 years since that roll bar went in.

Couple videos from last weekend.

Street Tires on the full course. 2:24 and still getting used to the car. Somehow 10 seconds faster than TT4, but slower than TT6.

Slicks on the bike course. 2:05 and was finally comfortable and starting to push. This was the very last lap of the weekend. I was excited because I beat my friends fastest lap from his race in ST4.

I didn't realize how much of the camera my big mirror blocked. I'll need to test new camera positions before next time.

Made some progress towards being ready for the cage.

Gutted the driver door and made some window clips. Need to go back and cut the window track still.

Got the seat mounted in. Ended up picking up some Jerfspeed mounts. I went to reuse my old mounts, but every hole was just slightly off and would have taken a lot of work.

One hole was really close to my old one. I put big backing plates on both sides, but might weld up the extra hole later.

Good stuff. Looking forward to cage shenanigans. ST4? Maybe GLTC? Not sure how far away you are from their events.

Yes to both classes. I'm in KY, so the Gridlife events are all pretty close.

Nice. That's my goal as well, but most of the Midwest events are a serious haul for me. Gonna try to do COTA in March though if I can get the car done in time.

Splitters don't lie. This is how you know if you took enough curb through 1a.

To all the people that tried to convince me race ramps would work, you win. This is the way.

Some minor interference with the ramps, but it'll self clearance.

Cleared the trailer deck with no problem..

Added some more 2x10s and I can tie it down with the splitter on now. Ready to take it to McMahan on Friday.

I'm all aboard the 2x6 DIY ramps train vs the raceramps.. mostly because I'm a peasant lol

Out of curiosity, what length trailer is that? I'm peaking around the market for one to buy if the price is right this winter.

18ft total deck length. Perfect for the miata, but very small for anything else. I put my 328 wagon on there once, it hung over the back even before I had the toolbox on the trailer.

The lowest angle of approach ones. RR-TR-5

I could probably use a little higher one and not drag on the metal, but then it would drag on the plastic. I really did not want 2 piece ramps.

really clean job on the door trimming. Maybe put some channeling rubber around the edge so you don't cut yourself

Drove up to Akron today to leave the car at McMahan for a cage. It was a long day today...

Found the Winning Formula V8 car there too. That thing is long overdue for a cage.

Managed to snag most of the safety upgrades I need on Black Friday sales. Got a new set of FIA harnesses from OMP, driver containment net, window net, and got a new helmet (Simpson Bandit). Helmet is actually already here and is so much more comfortable than the Zamp I had. I didn't realize how uncomfortable the Zamp was, it just wasn't quite the right shape for my head (too round). I know the Bandit isn't the highest end helmet, but I've always loved that design and it fits my head great!. Had to put it down in the Christmas pile though, it's technically a gift for me.
