maniuplating positive and negative gas pressure waves for less distruption during exhaust valve overlap between #1 and #2. It's more efficient.

Twin scroll turbine housing. The TST housing derives its name from the geometry of the exhaust gas inlet into the turbine. Two different-sized scrolls are generally used, a primary and a secondary. Typically, the primary is open for low-speed operation, and both for high-speed use. This creates the ability of the TST to be a small A/R housing at low speeds and a large A/R at higher speeds.
TST designs are of merit in that they offer a better combination of low-speed response and high-end power. It would be difficult to configure the unit to control boost by effectively varying A/R. A wastegate is therefore still necessary to control boost pressure. Simplicity of the twin scroll turbine housing is its big selling point.

That thing is definitely sick looking.

I can't wait to see the massive amounts of torque that should result from all this mumbo jumbo. Almost makes me cry that this is being done on a 1.6 and not a 1.8, but oh well.

For example, if a four-cylinder engine's firing sequence is 1-3-4-2, cylinder 1 is ending its expansion stroke and opening its exhaust valves while cylinder 2 still has its exhaust valves open (while in its overlap period, where both the intake and exhaust valves are partially open at the same time). In a single-scroll or undivided manifold, the exhaust gas pressure pulse from cylinder 1 is therefore going to interfere with cylinder 2's ability to expel its exhaust gases, rather than delivering it undisturbed to the turbo's turbine the way a twin-scroll system allows.

The result of the superior scavenging effect from a twin-scroll design is better pressure distribution in the exhaust ports and more efficient delivery of exhaust gas energy to the turbocharger's turbine. This in turn allows greater valve overlap, resulting in an improved quality and quantity of the air charge entering each cylinder. In fact, with more valve overlap, the scavenging effect of the exhaust flow can literally draw more air in on the intake side while drawing out the last of the low-pressure exhaust gases, helping pack each cylinder with a denser and purer air charge. And as we all know, a denser and purer air charge means stronger combustion and more power, and more power is good!

Well my ramhorn and a different sound then my ETD manifold, so I figure something like mine with paired cylinders and how the manifold is designed would create a unique sound.

My absurdflow BEGi Replacement (ver 2) manifold sounds a lot different than my old log manifold did. Some of the difference is the 2.5 vs 3" exhaust, but I know that doesn't account for all of the difference.

Where'd you source your parts for the manifold? I'm going to assemble my own I think.. Just gotta figure out where to put the turbo, damn thing's HUGE.
