Welcome to the early 2000's.

We've finally enabled launch control and flat shifting on this little turd. 3000rpm launch because of RA-1s and rain.

That's really just a video of launch control, since I forgot to not lift the gas for my 1-2 shift, and I couldn't find 3rd when I tried 2-3, which is what you hear most of the end of the video.

This poor VLSD has no chance.

Anybody have any idea how to make the launch control faster? Is it just narrowing the space between "retard ignition above" and "Launch control hard rev limit"?

Car made 122/108 whp/wtq. Quiet muffler made more power than the spoon knockoff so we are sticking with it.
Videos to come.

Those seem like really healthy numbers for your little 1.6 - I'm excited to see what you guys will do with the VVT swap. Do you have E85 easily available in the PNW?

I'd be interested to know what your "Quiet Muffler" is - I had to route in little dynomax behind my catless hushpower system to get the sounds levels reasonable for the street.

It's a round magna flow. Kinda big, maybe 21"(?) and about 6" diameter. We welded a flange onto the end and bolted it tour racing beat mid pipe. It sticks out the middleish. Then there's a 90* pipe left over from an old exhaust system pointing down. Looks like a limp dick honestly. There's also a patch panel welded on where an old hanger ripped off. We need to work on it.

Yeah I would spend a bit more if I were you.
Fabbed a little cover from some scrap steel I had. This will go around the cuts we made to install the roll bar in laz to block off the trunk from the passenger compartment. Used foam cover with electrical tape around the edges as a noise damper. Need to make another one for the other side but Im all out of scrap metal

while laz is waiting on his VVT motor that curly is building and for suspension to show up, I did some time trials in my daily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65xz...ature=youtu.be
Eddie Nakato of AR auto service took my car for a few laps, needless to say I have a few things to work on but it was a great experience, glad to have him as a friend.
more footage to come.

So Laz is insanely close to the spec miata record for PIR which is 1:30.448. Laz managed a 1:30.947 today on corded SM6s that got progressively more and more terrible. There is a lot left in the car as I'm relearning it with the MCS however it is super consistent and easier to drive after we played with the dampers and sway bar combo today.
Here are a few photos of Laz and his poor tires
