So as I suspected I broke my turbo. When I took it apart to clock it for the new mani I had to band it to get it out of the turbine housing. When it came out it came out an an angle and broke a piece off of 1 blade and bent several others. I straightened them out as much as possible before I put it back together but they aren't perfect. I also think that in the process I damaged the rear oil seal cause its leaking oil into the exhaust. As a result of all that my spool is horrendous. Not even 10 psi by 4000 rpms. So I'm going to order another one from the same people. I was very happy with how the turbo performed before I messed it up so I'm going to stick with it.

My question for you fellas is, should I go with another .64 turbine or step up to .86? I wish I knew what my new mani and dp did for spool but with the turbo the way it is I don't.

I wish I had the cash for a name brand BB turbo but with just buying new tires and the mani/dp my Miata funds are low.

Shitty :(

I did almost the same thing to my turbo except I dont think I bent any fins, just took a chunk out of a tip of one of them (turbine side as well). Of course my oil seals are fine, though.

Talk to those people about parts. If you can get a new turbine wheel and shaft, the rebuild kit for those is cheap and easy to do.

I already talked to them and they said that they don't have a rebuild kit for this turbo.

go with the 0.86 hotside.

you already have a 0.64 hotside that you can use if you dont like the 0.86 one.

they should be if it is the same turbo.

i would confirm wheel measurements with the seller to make sure though.
on a side note, 2860 and 2871 share the same exhaust housing, but the 2871 uses a t4 compressor wheel and housing, correct?

Correct.

Plus once you start passing up around the 300whp mark, the .63ar starts to become a bottleneck. Not that you cant make the power, but you could sure as **** make it a lot easier with the larger turbine housing.

Yea I checked the specs and both turbine wheels are the same size so I'm gonna get the .86.
