Mk1 1800 Turbo Eunos S-Special JDM build
By request here is my build thread. It's not that unusual or groundbreaking but I though i'd post one up showing the progress of the car.
Grab a beer or coffee and enjoy!
I picked up a standard 1.8 a little under 2 years ago from an ex Mazda service manager. pretty much standard other than a grubby K&N pod filter but it was clean, slow and wobbly but clean and full of charm. I made the choice to buy the first one I saw (I know that's bad but hey, time to spend driving to look at cars is time I didnt have)
Here she was, crappy and slow but she was mine and I was in love.

Factory billsteins and torsen lsd were two of the s-special extras

Blowing jap box came off and was replaced with a nice stainless system and then my love for tinkering was re-ignited

Timing was way out and at 14deg she livened up

Then the arc box and a decat... still gutless... i'm going to have to spend money here...

cambelt, immobiliser and alloy refurb and the cost were clocking up... cheap runaround phah!

This relic arrived and was returned and a chinacharger purchased... I was naive and it lasted a while but I'll but the real deal from now on.

And then injectors and a few other bits before being packed off for a basic (but effective) turbo install

She felt potent enough but there was still much to do...

A bit of paintwork and a white gv lip (it was short lived and died about 12 hours after fitting it on some building site matting :(

Flyin miata level 1 was a great buy.

Much buggering about with the megasquirt ensued to get the car running properly and a wideband fitted

New wheel to get rid of the bus wheel that was oem

More buggering with the 'pnp' to get it working with my 1.8

then off for a bit of tuning at wastegate. Hub hp

New coilies to handle 'all that power' lol

Then sh*t got serious with a mac valve (this ended up not working too well

Roll bar going in

Then some upgrades to the Ice followed by driving in the ice :/

Framerails made a superb improvement to handing

Several changes of wheels... too many to detail really

And some more driving

And a bit more paint

Kids and auto electrics... a match made in heaven!

And then the China charger bit it when my filter fell off. Oh well. A quick call to a contact got me a minty TD04L13T and i was soon bolting it all back together

Just in time for the show the next day. (up to 3am from memory)

New fittings on the turbo and a quick refresh and we were rocking again!

3" custom system went on with decat from the dp back. Very loud, very powerful!

A bit of dressing and back to the dyno with a crude *** bleed valve (copper pipe with holes :/ )

More messing with (awful) wheels

Now the exterior and interior needed attention...
A funky fibreglass ducktail bootlid

And a gv lip to balance things out

Lotus elise 111S seats bought and in

Foglight relocated to o/s reversing light for uk MOT

Rad was boiling over the odd time so out with the oem

And twin fans in series to cool things down

And strip back and underseal over winter

Quick was and then first proper run of 2016

Stripped a load of crap out of the engine bay including a nice straight drop clutch line

Did some funky ducting (dont ask me if it works)

Another show, not much love for my car despite the effort so i thought i'd put some effort into the outside

So bits started to arrive

Jass stealth TSIs

Carbon fibre door mirrors (they work fine despite what people say)

And a few other subtle dress parts

5mm slip on spacers and we're getting there

Interior carbon fibre parts

De cluttered the front and added some nice powder coated towing eyes to fr and rear

Uprated upper and lower shifter gators

More driving in the hills!

And a little bit more dress up in the form of stripes and lows

And power wise this is where we are up to as of last week. My latest project coming up in the next post

So my latest project is a powdercoated and ported inlet manifold and skunk2 throttle body plus thermal spacers. I've installed it over the last few days in little stints and she is looking and driving well.
The previous dyno from the day before I started fitting is here and nothing has been touched since. I'll have it re dynoed next week (15 psi and td04l)

Here's some pics from the process
