I'm half way through the wiring but I have a problem...I don't really know how to read the key logger. Can someone take a look at these two pics from another thread and tell me what's wrong with them?
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...er-output1-bmp https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...er-output1-bmp I'm basically counting 4 CKP teeth and I should see the 3 CMP teeth falling...where? |
BTW, I'm using the yellow/blue from the 1994 EGR purge valve solenoid to pin #8 on the VVTuner. I don't think Dimitris put anything on the circuit since it's been unplugged for 9-months with the car running fine.

What exactly are you trying to do? What is wired up so far?
|
The signals themselves look ok. Its the phasing between them that must match. Can you get both together in the same screen?
|
On the coils for the 2001, please tell me if I'm right here:
black is GND black/white is power brown, brown/white, brown/yellow, or blue/yellow is signal The wire diagrams online don't match my coils. My coils have different wire colors, the brown/white goes to coil #1, brown goes to coil #2 which does not match the diagrams. |

Those are the correct wires (Black/White - Power, Black - Ground, others - signal). Brown/White to coil 2 (forward one), Black/Yellow to coil 1 (rear one) on my 2001.

Thanks bros.

There is no brown/yellow on my car, but now I know what do do. I'm going to break from the wire diagram because my coils, in the factory wiring plastic stuff, untouched, makes brown/white go to coil #1. I'm going to write this down and save it for future reference. Is this a big "no no" in the "automotive electronics guild of people who have a clue"?
Its either black/white (which is 12V), or brown/yellow. Maybe the yellow seems like white after so many years under the hood? |
This bitch starts and runs. :)
Thanks everyone. I'll be back later. |

Purple is #8. Red is 12V for the VVT solenoid, aka #15.

I assumed it was powered through the harness you built. Last question. After this you can ignore all emails. lol |
The red wire HAS 12 volts.
Just connect these two wires to the solenoid. Polarity doesn't matter. |
