What are the specs on your wheel/tire fitment? It looks like it will rub in the rear.

I have 15x9 6uls but looks like you need as close to a 0 offset to get no rubbing on a 9.

Looking awesome. Glad you were able to get one without shipping damage finally.

Figured I would post some of my problems I have found for those that don't follow the facebook page.

The pedal box and hole for the steering shaft are not in the right place. The gas pedal hit the trans cover and requiters you to beat it with a hammer. The steering shaft hole causes the shaft to interfere with racing beat headers (very commen and most popular header for NA Miatas). Spent 8 hours designing, installing and uninstalling of a motor mount spacer for the driver side and making the passenger side smaller to give enough clearance when the motor is twisting under load. Took a total of 17mm of over all motor movement from it's OEM location on the sub frame.

After motor mount mod

Had to make tank mounts because of course the rear deck is to low and does not have to right angle for the fuel to not pool at the rear of the tank. I cell a fuel cell in my future.

Arm restraints. Seriously. Do it.

DNMakinson 01-13-2015 12:46 PM

Jeff, please explain what you did there on the gas tank.

I'm going to but I don't want any body parts sticking out to where it could be amputated.

I have no clue what I did. The stainless lines come with the race Exocet and other are running them so the system works. I just removed all emission stuff and added a filter to the breather to keep dirt out.

Also, side panels are a really good idea. Arm restraints keep your hands inside the ride. The next grab point tends to be the bars right behind the passengers side tire, or an elbow out between the tubes. Probably wouldn't loose an arm in a wreck, but still not a good idea. Oh and go through the welds. On the one EOK and I have experience with one of the steering rack welds didn't hold up to a pretty minor off.

That seat is scary hanging out like that. Apparently they updated the kit to move the seats inward a bit. Might want to look into what they changed for the newer kits.

EO2K 01-13-2015 11:41 PM

 I thought this WAS the newer kit. He's on his 3rd new frame at this point.

Taking it to fabricator friend to have the trans tunnel pushing in about 4 inches.

Seems they did all the cool new stuff the day after they built mine.

Good idea. I'm hoping they work out all the bugs before I buy mine. But with the yearly price increases it will probably be $10k before I get one.

Nevermind, will have to make a new exhaust to do that. ultrashild size 15 is the winning idea. They are thin enough to fit.

make sure you add more support to the gas tank. (i think you mentioned that already). for those that don't know. gas tanks that are only held on by bolts have a tendency of cracking. needless to say once they crack you could have one hell of a big fire.

Monk 01-19-2015 10:29 AM

Jeff who did you piss off recently?

DNMakinson 01-19-2015 12:21 PM

Monk, My guess is BoostedChicken. Look at post #2 in the thread linked below: where Jeff makes a response, but the quoted post does not exist (at least in that thread).

Jeff's Comment

Right afterwards, all of Jeff's posts on this thread got a -1.

I'm going to add some big washers on the bottom to spread out the foot print but a fuel cell is in the plans.

I don't pay attention to any of that. Ya he got banned for post inflating by spamming bs on random threads.
