It's worse than you can possibly imagine.

Well, things are a wee bit complicated here today so probably not going to make a whole lot of progress on this car this week. Possibly this weekend either
I regret having left the window open in the car...
I did finish changing the oil and filter last night, and the engine sounds night and day better with fresh oil. Parts monkeys at the FLAPS appear to have given me aluminum transmission and diff drain plug washers (after they told me they didn't have a listing for transmission and differential drain plug washers) instead of oil drain plug washers so I'll probably end up filling the transmission with Amsoil MTG as I think I've got a couple quarts lying around.
Parts ordering has begun! Priority right now is to make the car reliable and (relatively) "safe" again, lots of little things here and there that need to be addressed. I'll try to keep everyone updated if anything fun comes in.

Huehuehue. Don't get too used to it, I'm sure to **** up more things in the future.

Look how clean it used to be...
Also, going back and reading my old threads from a decade ago is quite a trip.

Hmm, know anyone that wants to trade some stockers for my very used ricer lights (There's a reason the pic is taken from that angle)? I would gladly put the stock ones on but I can't find any miatas at the local pick and pull, and the money for new lights would better be put towards my 6UL fund anyways.
I still kind of like them, the Hella reflectors are so much better than the stock sealed 7's even with the poor cutoff from the bumper skin. One of the big reasons I bought them was to cannibalize them and make some low-pops but that was a project I never got around to doing.

Made an ill advised trip to the junkyard today... everything is just ******* disgusting up here right now as I've mentioned, I'm boooooored.
Air quality is ******, as seen above the old people park next door.
Don't mind me, just violating PPE protocol with excessive facial hair.
Found a 92 that was pretty cleared out but I managed to pick up a couple useful bits and pieces. I find it somewhat hilarious that yet another red NA6 is giving up parts to keep this car running
Snagged this little fella. Do you recognize it?
Squirt of black paint to make it a little less obtrusive...
Aaaand scratched the fresh paint. Sonnavadidly. Am I enough of a psychopath to touch this up? Only time will tell.
Also got around to yanking out the Kirkey, damn thing has been trying to kill me for days.
I knew I saved my stock NB1 seat for a reason! It seems to match the car pretty well. Now if only I could figure out what the hell bolt size Mazda used for these I could bolt these things in.
Also installed the freshalicious intake crossover tube. No more electrical tape! Woo! It's only taken me 18~19 years to replace that part, lol.
My hoard of maintenance parts continues to grow and its starting to annoy me simply because I can't do anything with them. There's so much trash in the air outside right now I shouldn't really be doing anything outside for any length of time, respirator or not.

Internet seems to agree with M10x1.25, though I swear I tried one last night and no can in. It was also late and dark and I was rapidly running out of *****. It looks like the passenger seat still has bolts so at least I have something to compare it to. There's no humps on the drive side anymore so I only need the two in the front and I'll have to get creative with the rear mounts. If worst comes to worst that NA6 in the junkyard still has seats in it and I'm sure it wouldn't mind being a donor for a couple of bolts.

For those following along at home, confirmed for M10x1.25 with 14mm head.
Like so many other things on this car, bolt holes have also seen some ****. Luckily, being weirdo borderline hoarder saved me a trip to the hardware store.
Front mounts mounted. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the rears as there's no longer any humps. Handily, someone has already drilled a set of holes in the floor in the correct location for me

Downgraded beard game, upgraded PPE game. Sad times.
Spent a couple of hours fighting with this broken garbage. Finally got it together after much cursing and wiggling.
An den...
Changed my mind and ripped out the dash. What a strange set of problems I've created for myself.
