Why aren't you using nitrous 1 or 2 for your VVT output?

Is nitrous 1 going to the silly intake manifold flappy doodad?

Read the error. What's your alternator control pin set to.
Post a tune. |
his MS3 harness is wired standard for the NB1 he owns.
i.e., not for VVT. |
So I need to change the VVT output to nitrous 2 right? Isn't there an issue with everything using the same frequency? I.e. EBC, VVT, and IAC? Will just changing the base frequency for one of them work (and tuning again with that if necessary)?
And Aidan, will do once I can go through the above. I want to atleast try to resolve it first. |
do you even have the MS3 physically connected to the VVT solenoid?

no one uses the ms3x VVT output to actually control the VVT -- unless you don't want to idle well.

but yeah, any of those medium outputs is all you need technically. you just gotta watch out with the frequency banks, you can only setup two different frequencies between the (6) outputs.

VVT Solenoid has two wires.
Grab power from the injector harness (white/red stripe from any injector plug) and connect to solenoid, run the other from the solenoid to megasquirt Nitrous1 to control VVT

Step 1. Disconnect the plugs going into your ECU.
Step 2. Look at the plugs you unplugged, you want the DB37 pin - they have two small screws (covers) take them off to expose the wires. It looks like this. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...3140e62f11.jpg Step 3. Get a piece of wire, pre-tin it and stick it into the correct hole (Nit1 is pin 24) View diagram posted above. Step 4. With wire in, solder. Step 5, Put back together and run signal wire to VVT. Step 6. Get power and run to VVT. ( i get mine from injector harness 12v) Step 7. Pray to the megasquirt gods that it works and you don't get VVT1 err like me, else you'll forever be hating your non-working vvt like me. For the record, My ECU is brain built - I've tried everything hes said but uhh Yeah let me know if yours works.

Thats not the issue. The issue is frequency banks. VVT and idle must share the same frequency because of the hardware design. You don't want that.

Idle, Boost, VVT, and tacho are on one. Since we need to set the Idle valve frequency, the VVT one cant be adjusted.
Nitro 1 and Nitro 2 on another.

Alright, so as said above nitrous 1 is already wired so do I just use nitrous 2?
I'm still unsure if anything needs to be modified internally... What is even happening? Question: If Clit gets a non flappy intake manifold, can he just populate one of the nitrous outputs and be normal? |
Is it too late to suggest a 1.6 swap?
|
Retard the pinout..

How's that motor of yours holding up? QUOTE=psyber_0ptix;1492149]What is even happening? Question: If Clit gets a non flappy intake manifold, can he just populate one of the nitrous outputs and be normal?[/QUOTE] It's on nitrous 2... Where the CEL used to be. |

And it's properly selected in Tuner Studio to use that output? I'm convinced he doesn't actually want us to figure it out. |
I came here to be entertained and was not let down. :dealwithit:

I think I got vvt working! Exhaust sounds a bit different and I can see the duty cycle move around when I drive. Sweet!
I don't have EBC setup yet, so I think the frequency issue will pop up once I turn that on since I'll have three things fighting for 511hz when I think the limit is two. I can likely change the ebc or idle valve frequency to compensate for that. Maybe I'm making the issue up, but I thought I read that the limit was 2 things for the frequency bank. And I'm still chasing a fucking oil leak after fixing 3 other ones. Whack. A. Mole.

At this rate, ill have more miles on mine before it rod knocks than you'll have in the next 2 years. :D
