My engine went Hiroshima earlier this morning. So is time to put together a block. My list of items so far, for a cheap built (BUILD) are:
- Pistons (already have some)
- Rods - Mtuned.
- Bearings - ACL?
- Oil pump gears
- ARP main caps (already have head studs)
- Gasket set- Recommendations?
That's all that crosses me mind at the time. If you have any link for cheaper items please post it. I'll have pics later.
Thanks

Engine was weak already. It just gave up. I didn't puch a hole through the block or anything. I haven't open it yet. There may be a video popping up soon of when Jake, his friend and I went to pick it up.
That definitely contributed to the weakening of the engine. I did replaced the seals though but I did drive the car like that plus I had that overheating problem. So IMO it started dying little by little and kaboom.
Now Pusha (Jake) has a spare 1.8. I think I'll put that in and sort the parts to build a block as I go. I have saved up money, but I don't want to dump it all at once into a block.

Well no built motor for now. Our family received news today that our grandma, from my moms side, has been ingressed to the hospital and has been diagnosed with a tumor in her brain. I bought my mom a ticket and she's leaving tomorrow.
Are you going to clean up and re-ring the block you're getting at least or just throw it in there?
I think if you freshened it up (rings/hone/gaskets/etc) for about 200-300 it would last you quite a while without issues.

If you do decide to do a built engine one of these days, give Adam at No Limit Motorsports a call. We had a group buy with him a long while back, but he still gives a decent discount to members on here.
Hope everything goes well for you.
A few of the Aussie owners have used gasket kits from CNS auto parts, maybe check them out.

Update bitches.
I just paid Madvillain for his 99 motor and tranny. I hope to pick up on Saturday. Then, replace seals, wp, tb, etc... and have it ready so my buddy Josh drops it like it's hot the next.
I hope to be running sometime next week
