Really? Hmm. Hasn't been bad IME, and I've done a lot of work on this one. Springs were super easy, steering rack swap was a little difficult but overall not too bad, with the airbox out of the way everything was plenty accessible. Even the electronic bits haven't been bad.

Way back in the day around 2007/2008 one of my good friends had an AP1. It was an awesome track car, but on the street around DC it was horrible. He had it supercharged with some sort of "rotrex" like supercharger, I don't remember what brand. It had something like 300whp, 180-190ft/lbs of torque. The first time I went to dyno my turbo 1.8 NA my only goal was to put down more torque then him. I think I put down a 220ft/lbs with my Begi setup. I was extremely pleased. He ended up selling the car to some Asian guy for 20k or so. He knew he would never get an offer that high again so went with it.

I haven't narrowed it down to any particular kit yet, still a ways out. Thanks for the heads up about the TTS kit though. Definitely prioritizing reliability over outright HP. I rode in a turbo S2k and it was fun but not what I'm looking for out of the car. I want the same powerband it has now, with just more everywhere.
The AP2 has enough more torque over the AP1 that it makes it just fine in traffic and such. I rode in a friend's AP1 and yeah it was a blast, 9k rpm is fun, but it was just sooooo sooooo sleepy below 5k rpm. I know the AP2 is only like 20 lb ft more but... that makes a big difference.

I have a plan for you. You lust over the ND, but you don't like the top-end. You like the S2K, but don't like the bottom-end. So buy that ND that you have had your eye on and then put a Rotrex on it! Then you can sell your AP2 to Vlad and everyone will be happy
For real, though, Jackson Racing is supposedly in the process of making a kit. That will elevate the ND to a whole new level.

Who needs more than 100wtq below 5000rpm anyway lol

The reasons I didn't get the ND are these:
1. The ND will depreciate, so no matter how good of a deal I get on the car, it's going to be worth less later on. The S2k, OTOH, is not depreciating hardly at all... so despite the fact that I'm still making payments on the S2k (leftover divorce bullshit) the money is essentially just building equity instead of keeping up with depreciation.
2. All that would have been worth it if I would have been happy with a stock ND... But I wouldn't have been. At the bare minimum, I'd have been $2500 into exhaust and tune, plus $600-700 for springs and sways (staying on stock billies) or another $2500 for Ohlins and sways (what I really wanted). Beyond that, needed a set of 17X9 6ULs with tires, so there's another $1500. So.... that's $7k, and would still be on stock brakes and roll bar.
3. I hate the seats. They gave me a backache after an hour. Getting out of the ND seats and back in my S2k was like a visit to the chiropractor.
4. Even if I could afford all that ****, I shouldn't, because I don't own a house and don't have nearly as much in savings as I'd like to.
5. I still love my S2000. If I didn't like it, this would all be moot and I'd have an ND. But I DO like it, very much.
Finally, I realized that if I just took the S2k and spent the same $7k I was going to spend on the Miata, I could have a wicked little car. Started with the lowering springs, and that will keep me happy suspension-wise for a while.
I'd honestly be happy with another 30-40 whp in the s2k. But by the time I buy the spiffy header and EMS and such to make that happen, I might as well throw a blower on there and make another 150 whp. It'll fill in the midrange a bit (i'm never under 3k rpm in this car anyway, and the supercharger seems to give a useful boost in the midrange, another 20 ish lb-ft minimum between 3-5k). and moving VTEC down will help too.

Are you actually making boost or just pushing it all past the PCV into the valve cover? You have an EBC right? Change there should show up in logs, if you have them, correct? (I'm not good at these things, just throwing out ideas)

I was just wondering if there was a little more information, FB pictures and random blah blah is hard to sort through.
Really sucks what happened, i'd be super bummed about missing track time.
