For aggressive driving you'll want to forgo the pads completely anyway. Just take them out. That won't solve the flex problem but it will get you bolted to the car as tight as you're going to get.

If the seat is at all close to the right size/shape for you, when truly driven aggressively their will be no discomfort due to lack of pads. If your *** gets sore, you need to drive harder. That sentence has a lot of potential on this forum.

I enjoy my buddy club racing seat but I better keep the weight off or I won't be able to fit in it anymore. 32" waist required. Also, I think I would need the shoulders/lats of a woman or a prepubescent boy if I wanted to be comfy in it.

lol... I get what you're saying Richard but I really like driving with padding in my seat. Not a fan of padless seats! I think I will get some thinner padding, this is just much thicker than necessary.

Jeff, I felt exactly that way in my Recaro. This seat does fit me perfectly. It's quite wonderful as far as that goes.

Moar JB weld. Hope it sticks. Leak was much much slower, didn't actually bother to drain the oil this time.... I'm such a lazy... ***? Hehe...

Here's hoping that's that.

Wow Ed, hopefully this leak is solved though.

On to the heater core replacement, and coolant leak solving.

For the coolant leak, I put money on the thermostat housing. When I first put it together, it had been kinda cross threaded and was a bear to tighten. I think I'm going to get a 180 thermostat and a new housing.

Any recommendations other than the normal M-tuned one?

Edit: this looks good... Simple piece, shouldn't be a problem at eBay, no?

Cleaned him up today. (Yes, my car is a male. I know that's gay, but Miata).

Taking a trip to the coast tomorrow.

I'm keeping your double post cause it's funny.

Can we see pics of the trunk? I wanna see how bad these stripes are.

To fill others in: instead of dealing with removing the spoiler, we swapped entire trunk/spoiler assemblies to fix his broken one. As a bonus he got rid of a small dent. The stripes are apparently still visible after the above buff job.

Two questions:

1. Anyone know how to get rid of the stripes? Or is the paint just different colors and they'll always be there?

2. Anyone know how to safely remove the adhesive so we can swap trunk lids only?

Also: I have an offer for you Ed. We swap hoods. Mobius wants it, but he'll take yours instead. Then you'll have ghost stripes down your entire car, which would look bitchin.

pretty sure the difference in paint under stripes is from the sun, and is permanent

and picked up a long scratch about 10 inches long that had previously been mostly hidden by the racing stripe. Ouchies.

Yup the stripes are going to be there long time. I will get a pic today to show you.

I think I'm figuring out what I'm going to do. I think I'm going to be putting my driver's door back in and swapping back to my door cards. Yeah that'll require a small refund but you'll get more out of those cards and my seat is going to destroy this one once I lower it some more, so I won't lower it until I get my door cards back in. Aside from that, in the pics of the driver side above you can see that the paint doesn't match. Aside from that, my door still has paint on the front edge I'll do all the work, now that I've seen how the doors come on and off it should only take me about three times as long as it takes you, instead of 5 times as long. Then I'll just get some tint on my driver windows that were in my car already and I'll be good to go.

If you need access to a pickup truck to scrap stuff, I am sure I can obtain one.

All of this will probably happen...... hopefully some evening next week. I'd like to do the swapping at your house again just cuz that's where all the parts are, but I don't expect you to work on it.

Coast trip was a huge success. Lots of fun. Forgot to take pics of the trunk and didn't drive it today, so will get some tomorrow.

I'm told my car belches black smoke under acceleration. I think I need to move the re-tune up to a higher priority, despite the fact that the car drives fantastic.

Took some pics. I'm a sucky photog and took the pics with my cell phone but whatever. Enjoy.

CRINGE NOW.

And one more for old time's sake. From the original FS ad.

Opinion: The FFD's look better than those black 6UL's.
