Another full day of work. Most of it was dropping the transmission to flip the clutch disc around as I installed it backwards The OS Giken 409 single plate has a stock pedal feel.

The alternator refused to charge so I tossed on the FD alternator I had and was pleased to see charging at 15v.

Body panels mocked up. The car is quite low

Next week is sanding time so my brother can paint it on the weekend. It's all coming together

Boring **** time.

Sanded and recleared the headlights. They need another few coats and a buffing.

Same goes for my rescued craftsquare mirrors. Which by chance I can't see **** out the passenger side because of the window rail.

Lastly some VHT wrinkle red on the valve cover.

Tidied up the cam and crank sensor wiring. I need to pick up a ricer air filter at some point tomorrow.

Mounted up the Evo 1 Recaro seat I had for the passenger seat. It can't go any further back due to the main hoop, if it weren't for that the seat would have another 3" of rearward travel. Bummer.

Got the exhaust completed and tucked nicely in there. It is just above the lowest part of the rear subframe so it should clear the Autoexe rear brace when it get's here. 2 3/8" piping, 2 large resonators in the mid pipe and a small muffler at the rear. I didn't extend it to the stock exit as I didn't have enough material

I need to add another hanger point on the chassis for the muffler

I apparently wasn't wearing my glasses when I did the cut out. I need to extend it to the right a little. It's pretty quiet which is good.

My brother and I managed to get some of the sanding done but it's looking a little out of our league so the car will be going back to the body shop on saturday to have everything done.

Tuning wise I cannot get the cold start worked out so I need to look up some videos on what does what with the haltech

Worst rev up exhaust noise vid ever

Well that was easy. I'll get a feel for it on the way to the alignment shop tomorrow.

Played with the post start enrichment and it's behaving better but not 100% there yet

Alignment complete!

front before

front after

rear before

rear after

The rear adjustment would not go between 1.56 and 2.1 negative camber so I went with the more conservative rear camber. fingers crossed the paint shop can paint it in a week

That's a lot of caster. Are you using power steering or not?

Not.

I have depowered the rack. It's a little erm....tough

I think for the way our events are setup I should have kept the power steering but you see....I've been going to the gym and well....sunday will separate men from boys.

I will report my resounding triumph or failure

Thanks for participating in my thread. It's amazing how being socially awkward translates into the internet.

I have a depowered rack as well. Reduce the caster to 4 or 4.5 and it will be much, much easier.

Ah. I'll have it re-adjusted in the new year then, for right now it will have to stay.

gotta love life in the caribbean "yeah man....it finish before friday for sure"

They have had the car since saturday and tonight is the first time it was touched.

I left not long after but I was told it will be ready to paint tomorrow night and I can pick it up saturday which gives me a whole half a day to finish the minor final **** as well as re-tune the car.

I'll check the progress on the way home from work tomorrow and bring them a case of Heineken if I see it in the booth drying

In other news I finished the headlights

Does the retarded rubber trim need to go back on these?

Picked the car up from the paint shop and spent the afternoon finishing off the last minute things. I need to get new rear light bulbs tomorrow

I need new door seals and the top trim and I managed to crack the windshield putting it back in

I didn't get to touch the tune tonight but I did a 2nd gear wot pull and it's around 13.2 and 12.8 from 3k to red line. Timing I'm going to leave alone until I **** up some ear muffs to make det cans.

I look forward to posting videos from the event tomorrow

Thanks guys....the color is the 10AE blue. It shows up darker in the pictures for some reason.

Car was a blast to drive at the event, I am not familiar enough with the brakes so I left alot of time on the table. Ended up coming in dead last in my class

By far my favorite pic

I only managed to get one video as my diy camera mount sucked. Borrowed a suction cup mount. Will try to get that uploaded tonight
