I need to solicit advice from others that are removed from the situation, have a level head, and are more knowledgeable than I. Like all good builds I have run into a problem. When Abe was ready to finish my manifold and begin working on the downpipe he fully unboxed my turbo and realized that it is not an IWG setup but a EWG setup instead. This creates all kinds of issues. I started looking back to when I ordered the turbo from Bryan to make sure I specified the right turbo but the initial communications were via forum pm's because the 7163 was not on his website yet. I had deleted these PMs. However, I did find the initial invoice. To my dismay it said EWG on it and I completely missed it when I made the payment. This was my **** up. So by this point too much time has passed to just return the turbo to BW and Bryan has only sold one of this particular type of turbo making it a "unique item" per se and he doesn't want to just restock it in his inventory. I am essentially left with two options.
1. Bryan has agreed to take the turbo back and list it as a discounted open box item and apply that amount to my new IWG turbo. I feel like this process is going to be time consuming and an overall hassle. I am waiting on Bryan to get back to me on the $$ specifics of this option.
2. I can keep the EWG version I have and alter my order with Abe which will cost me $200 for the manifold modifications and dump tube. I will then need to get a good EWG which will run me at least another $200 if not more. This option will be less of a hassle and much faster.
So I pose the question to you gays, what would you do and why? I plan for this build to progress to absolute monster levels of power necessitating a new transmission and all sorts of other supporting modifications so keep that in mind. Is the EWG a better option? I know BW IWG are suppose to be baller so I am not convinced.

You already have the EWG turbo and its in abe's hands mid manifold manufacture. As long as the fact that the it was built to be an IWG manifold already isnt going to compromise the EWG setup (like if the manifold would have been setup different if he knew it was going to be ewg from the start) I would just go that way.

All baller setups have EWG for a reason. To my understanding they offer more precise control and can handle greater volume. I read somewhere that there is less disruption of the turbine inlet flow as it necks down to the impeller. And it is a value added component, meaning it will always be worth something.
But you might not want to ask me because I'm not afraid to spend your money.

I am leaning toward going the EWG route for ease and it will likely not be much more expensive after reselling the current turbo and buying a new one. I am completely ignorant when it comes to picking the right EWG because it was never in my plan to utilize one. I know Tial is the go to brand but what size am I looking for and is there anything weird about the EFR line of turbos that I need to know as far as EWG's are concerned?

Sorry to hear about your issues Ryan. I'd look at this as an opportunity to explore a new, possibly better EFR avenue. It will be a headache to put the fabrication on hold with Abe while you source a new turbo, then attempt to pick it up where you left off.
You are also right about the losses likely being nil after resale and whatnot. If you are really expecting to push limits with this thing run with this unless research shows there are glaring BW EWG issues, which I doubt. Yes the IWG has been good to our members because it's designed properly but I'd be surprised to hear that it is actually better than a well sorted EWG.

I installed the V8R BBK the weekend before last while prepping for Sebring.
This kit is absolutely amazing. It uses the same rotors as and calipers that the TSE kit uses but it has a custom caliper mount that Shandelle designed himself made of cnc cut aluminum. It fits under my gen 1 15x8 6UL with no spacers.
The install was cake and the brakes worked flawlessly all weekend at Sebring. I went with the Cobalt xr4 pads up front as they were a step up from the HP+ (which were fading) that I was previously running but were not so aggressive as to completely overpower my rivals when braking. I really picked up a lot of speed this weekend. There were 2 really wet sessions on saturday that were a fun lesson in car control. Sunday was absolutely gorgeous. It was cool with no clouds in the sky because a front came through which made for perfect track conditions. At the end of the weekend I got my check ride from HPDE 2 to HPDE 3.
Sixshooter convinced me to sign up for Daytona because NASA is doing the entire weekend for fairly cheap. So that will be on Nov 1-2. Should be a blast. I would like to get the radiator ducting complete and install the hood louvers I just received yesterday from ThePass before daytona if I can make the time.

I would recommend at least XR3s for the fronts on rivals, if not XR2s.
XR4s are a rear brake compound...
I ran XR2s on the front of my turbo Miata on Hankook RS2s way back in the day and it was pretty good. Rivals are significantly stickier than old RS2s so they should handle the brake torque of XR2s just fine.
Of course I was running on stock 1.8 brakes, not huge BBK, so YMMV...
