This is partly why I wouldn't ever have an older miata daily. Yes the cost in the long run is MUCH cheaper, but my Lancer has needed nothing but oil changes and tires in the last 5 years. It's even on 100% original light bulbs everywhere. Legit, I know.
I bought a paper filter once, then upgraded to a K&N. it paid for itself in less than a year since i lived on a gravel driveway, dust got everywhere.

The engine is out of the car and sitting on its stand in my garage.
My trans is really close ot my Begi coolant spacer. So it does not surprise me that Faeflora had to grind his trans down some. I can see how if the plug on the bottom of the space was not in all the way that it could hit.
I am out of town all this week for a business trip. So I won't be cracking open the engine until next weekend. By then hopefully my TSE radiator is also in.

My motor is apart. Oil pump relief valve is still there. No metal shavings or anything in the pan. So I am not sure what is going on. I will post pictures tonight some time when I have free time.

So now my engine is at the machine shop. The machinist has torn it apart and says everything is checking out fine. Currently I am waiting on new rings and then he can begin to reassemble to motor.
Here are the rods after he had taken them out.
Also my TSE radiator finally came in.

I should have my engine back from the machine shop by the end of the week. So I should be putting it back in this weekend.
Today I spent some time working on ducting.
