I bought a paper filter once, then upgraded to a K&N. it paid for itself in less than a year since i lived on a gravel driveway, dust got everywhere.
This is exactly why I want the Mazda 2. Right now my 92 DD is semi-reliable, but needs a lot things to bring it up to the comfort level I want. At this point in time I don't have the energy nor desire to do it all myself.

Did you buy one yet? Dooo eeeet! What's the biggest motor thy offer over there? I've got 1.5 liters of fury in mine and it's the biggest they offer here. Also, miata wheels fit so I expect to see 15x9 6uls on them at petit.

The engine is out of the car and sitting on its stand in my garage.

My trans is really close ot my Begi coolant spacer. So it does not surprise me that Faeflora had to grind his trans down some. I can see how if the plug on the bottom of the space was not in all the way that it could hit.

I am out of town all this week for a business trip. So I won't be cracking open the engine until next weekend. By then hopefully my TSE radiator is also in.

I have the exact same hoist and stand! I was surprised when I opened the box and the hoist was not bright orange.

My motor is apart. Oil pump relief valve is still there. No metal shavings or anything in the pan. So I am not sure what is going on. I will post pictures tonight some time when I have free time.

So now my engine is at the machine shop. The machinist has torn it apart and says everything is checking out fine. Currently I am waiting on new rings and then he can begin to reassemble to motor.

Here are the rods after he had taken them out.

Also my TSE radiator finally came in.

I will see if I can get some good pictures of the piston tops on Thursday when I go back to the machine shop to drop off more parts.

That is a 12x12 inch slim ebay fan. I think I am going to order a bigger fan.

Maybe the relief valve was stuck partly open.

TSE radiator was installed just to see how it fit. It fit perfectly.

Tops of pistons, not in order.

I should have my engine back from the machine shop by the end of the week. So I should be putting it back in this weekend.

Today I spent some time working on ducting.
