Everything was done by Pashko at Besnik Engine Design.

He's a one man crew, builds pretty high HP stuff. Typically V8's and what not. He does nice work, from what i've seen. I believe he spent over 5 years working at Livernois motorsports building engines for their race cars.

I am having a hard time understanding why he would port the floor of the intake runner. I was always taught that you never do that. Not saying that what he did is wrong or that it will not work better, but it is different than what I know.

Were you able to get any before and after flow data?

Because it's the shortest distance into the cylinder, among other things. Why hog out material on the top when air being forced in, or sucked in won't want to go up that way? The exhaust side is opposite. The top of the port was ported out more because of the way exhaust gasses will be flowing up.

I didn't get any flow data because the flow bench he uses doesn't sell the adapter small enough for the bp ports or something.

Either way, it spools quicker and makes more HP than it did before on wastegate.

Cutting into the floor causes the airflow to take a more abrupt turn before entering into the valve seat area. The reason the 99+ head works so much better is because the runner has been raised creating a straighter shot.

The fact that the runner is larger and smoother will probably make more power, but it is not likely to be maximized by cutting the floor.

I am not hating, just be mindful of that in the future. If you find that you want to further develop your head, you could epoxy the floor and re-port it. It is what everyone use to do when there were no heads available with raised runners.

Perhaps, but i think more volume = greater gains no matter what.

Put my new sticker on today. Things are pretty much getting out of control at this point.

Would anyone be interested in stock engine internals with only 50,000 miles on them? I'll pretty much give them away at this point, they're like new and i'd feel bad tossing them.

I might be interested in the pistons.

I mean, I'll take everything if you're just going to throw stuff away, but I don't know if I'll use the rods.

PM me?

Took the car out yesterday. Turned the boost up to 13psi. Set the hard fuel cut to 8500rpm.

Took it to 8000rpm and VD said i made 270 something HP. But i'm not going to bother posting that because i don't believe it to be true. I do believe that i had a bit of wheel spin around 7000rpm causing a spike.

I then took it to 8500rpm. It did well, as in it didn't eject anything. Engine has 700 miles on it now and i leave for the dragon Wednesday. Last year i did almost 2000 miles. Lets hope it holds up.

To lazy to look up the blue smurf build thread, but i did a bit more tuning on it. It has nasty wheel spin in 2nd from a roll even with 195 (same width tire as mine) summer tire(open diff fail). It's a lot of fun. Hopefully it can get my LSD, when i can find a 3.636 for my spare LSD. May be building another 16g car in the future too.

You might want to consider tack welding cam trigger wheel to the cam. The CSP car's shifted 70*s over the course of the last few events and now the car wont even start the synch is so messed up. Mine had shifted 5*s when I checked a couple weekends ago and we were hitting the 8500 limiter briefly both days this weekend so I'm sure it has shifted more. I need to weld mine this coming weekend.

Details? How do you then take it on and off?

Well you never take the cam trigger wheel off its a press fit. Or am I spacing out this morning and you dont have a VVT engine.

No VVT.

You are confusing me because the cam sensor is keyed. Not possible for it to slip. Last i checked, but then again you know more than me.

No just ignore everything I said, its VVT specific. The 99 cam trigger wheel cant slip. But now I need to find the thread of the guy who's spinning a vvt engine this high that I swear was in my email cue over the weekend. Or I'm just insane.

2750 miles on the new engine and couldn't be more happy with it. Took it down to the Tail of the Dragon over the last 5 days. The most impressive part: I netted 40mpg on the highway down and back. Super impressive i must say.

I did a total of over 2000 miles on the trip, for a car with a freshly built engine i am just plain happy. Only thing i had to do was tighten down my fuel rail that somehow came loose. I flogged the living hell out of it too. Drove it as hard as i possibly could down the dragon, and a few other roads. This car is pissed off unless it's at WOT above 5000rpm. It absolutely loves it. Oil consumption was minimal, maybe half a quart max. For how hard i was driving it, that's not bad. All my temperatures were in check too, which was good. I never saw my IAT above 105F. After my Dunlops warmed up i didn't have traction issues in second gear unless i was to hard in a turn. I did have a passenger though.

Now as i nurse the blisters on my toes and palms i'll leave you with some pictures of the trip. I still have yet to sort through the 129 and killboy photo's.

My group, lol

Impressive mile count on your trip! Glad to see it held together and whatnot, did you get any videos from the dragon? I'd love to see some flogging on it.

Stock suspension!!!! It's seriously very very good. But that's coming from a guy who's never been on xidas.

Car is going on a dyno the 26th. Probably gonna turn the boost controller up to 15psi or so. Pull some timing and go for it. I can't remember if i already said that on this site or not. Interested in seeing what happens above 7000rpm.

Bought some killboy pictures. That one ^ and this one.

Looking good man.

Why only 15 psi? Because 5 speed?

40 mpg? holy ****.

What AFR are you running for cruise?
Assuming this was at ~60 mph with stock 4.1s, that's pretty impressive.
