This is why i can't have nice things.

Clutch on. Trans in. Starter & slave connected. Pumpkin bolted in. Driveshaft on. All fluids changed.

Few more things to finish up and i can get started on this boat.

Read through the entire thread over the last couple hours, had a good time. That exhaust note is wonderful. I don't spring for ready-made exhausts because money, but that sound is magic.

Wastegate reference is still attached to the compressor outlet; How come?

Also had a chuckle at the flywheel removal solution. I'm glad to know this trick with a wrench. Google pic because I never took a picture while I was doing it.

Love your build thread.

Hey, thanks man. Glad you enjoyed the build.
Few things are still done poorly, this is due to lazyness and i tend not to fix things if they aren't broken.

If that isn't the point of a project car then I've been doing things incorrectly for quite some time

I seem to have lost the little white clip on my WBO2 sensor. UEGO controller, Bosch sensor. I vaguely remember it falling off, i was pretty hammered and in GO mode getting things tore down. But i can't remember where i put it, or it went. Has anyone ever had this issue? Where do you find a replacement? Does anyone know what i'm talking about? I was drunk when i lost it, i was drunk when i was trying to find it, and i'm drunk currently... 4 years ago this was acceptable, now i feel like i can hardly function.

So... I upload a panorama of my absolutely wreckd garage. Just to see how the site handles such a wide image.

The real reason i can't get any work done:
ANNNNNNDDD banned for portrait mode.

So i haven't really done much with the Miata since i got the race boat.

I did manage to make one upgrade. It only took me roughly 7 years to do it... This was seriously a pain in the ***. I never want to install another roll bar again.
Boss Frog double diagonal.

Other than that, this thing is pretty much buttoned up and good to go.

Ouch. :(

I know them feels, but luckily the internet pointed out that the last set of 3.9 gears i got were soooo hammered that it was easy to tell they were nothing more than scrap metal before i tried to install.

Still sucks. Not as bad as what you've got going on.

Want to find another one and make a weekend visit down here? We can knock that job out in a couple hours and drink some good beer.

Yeah, rises with vehicle speed. Not RPM. So i don't think it's the 6 speed. (6 speed feels great)

From what i understand it was a gear set purchased from corksport or miataroadster and rebuilt with that. It was unused after the rebuilt, from what i recall being told.

This is a bummer because i've got this engine running GOOD.

Ah. You bought the full diff already assembled and it made all sorts of noise right off the bat.

Damn.

Are you interested in trying to fix it, or just want to buy a diff that works? I have a MSM diff for sale, but it's 4.10 not 3.63 so prob not what you're looking for. But it is stronger than the one you previously busted. I can try to walk you through what to check on your current diff if you wanna try to diagnose and fix what is causing the noise. I just built a new diff for my miata about a week ago.

I think i remember you offering that diff to me before. Unfortunately, i got a taste of 6 speed and 3.636, so i want to try and keep it. MSM diff needs new axles too right?
This one is coming out, probably starting today, it shouldn't be that big of a job. Everything is fresh and has never-seize on it. I have never messed with a diff, so i'm unsure if it's something i want to attack myself or not. I may crack it open just to see if i can find anything.

Pat has the axles for sale too. They're stronger too.

Doesn't the MSM diff have more options for ratios too?

Got the diff out.
is there an easier way to get it past the axles?

There seems like a little "slop" but I have no idea. I really have no idea how to get this thing taken apart. Im probably just going to research some shops in the area and drop it off.

Why are you taking it apart?

Who or where did you buy it from? Take the **** back.

Bought it off a member of this site.
Made a phone call. Gonna drop it off at a shop tomorrow and get a professional opinion. I'm not going to touch it, we'll see what they say.
