Intriguing.

I mean, this is totally my fault again. I had a problem with my experimental catch can, that resulted in a boost leak again.

The real problem is, pay attention all you youngsters!

I changed too many things at once!

The large turbo is back on and in amazing shape, especially considering how many 1/4 miles it has been through. It is stronger up top at slightly lower boost. Also I think the 2 port can and 4 port solenoid will allow me to maintain higher boost up top than before.

Oh well at least I am living up to my compressor eating boss reputation. As Lars said, they are cheap as **** to replace. This is what happens when you try to push **** to the limit anyway.

Seriously though, I can't believe the car is running like nothing bad ever happened. Luckily this one is haunted by unicorn semen, need to stop by the Castro and score another small bottle of that stuff.

It seems like now instead of spending money on a built motor, you should be buying a spare set of rear rims and some slicks.

I have the rims for slicks, but I am scared without a couple more spare parts. I was pretty bummed about having to drive my work truck everywhere for a minute.

We will see what happens, seems like every time I say that I will do something to my car, I do something else. I love playing with my car and trying different things. I am going through with the motor, it's been sitting around too long.

Been wanting to share this information for a while. Just replaced my spark plugs, the last set lasted 19K and an entire season of drag racing.

For the record these are the plugs I ran 12's on.
NGK 4644 BKR7E

I also have been thinking about trying the Nippon Denso equivalent, to see if they might knock less/different, they need to be re-gapped to .035". Unfortunately my local Napa doesn't stock them.
Denso K22PR-11
The -11 clearly means an .045" gap for both Denso(ND old school) and NGK.

For the record my car idles very nicely at 14.7:1 and 10° with an .035 gap.

We are talking miles and inches here since I am in America (that's what she said!)
Sorry to much to drink tonight.

Oh yeah, I thought you guys might like this. No, I am not that old, but I do remember being pissed when CA87 went up to $1.

Side note:
Colipto, send me an email, no plans to swap the large turbo out currently. I am happy to see what it runs though.
As much as I am an SF native, I did live in "Southie yo" for 4 winters, ugh! Lived right near Southie High on Gates St. I used to walk dogs around Dorchester Heights park. I got local friends there man, Hella wicked dude

Planning to hit the drag strip tomorrow, I can't make it to Sac in time but I will be at Sears Point, hopefully by 4. Should be posting in the dynos and timesheets section far a little while. We'll see how I do, the large turbo is the fastest of the bunch. The spool isn't great but I do make 5psi or so passing in 5th, which isn't bad.

Maybe see some of you guys there, I will be in Gear Jammers class, near the motorcycles.

Not this time, maybe mid 12's next week.

It is interesting to note that I am only gaining 30°F in the 1/4 mile with my new IC/air filter/ducting scheme. I used to gain 50°F even when it was cooler than tonight. I maybe had one pass that picked up 31° but that's it, very pleased.

Ok, might as well share my stupid decision.

So I showed up with approximately 1/3 tank on the gauge and I filled up with CA100 whatever that is. It clicked off at almost exactly 8 gallons.
I added 1° of timing in the top right corner of my map, and didn't see any knock, so I added another 1/2 °. It feels very nice, even though I bricked my 3 runs this time. I may just leave my car parked until next week since I have almost $100 worth of gas in the tank.

On the other hand, maybe I will work on my tune and add more CA100 for another 1/2°.

Remembering Vlad's recent post, something like, it will probably hold and probably be OK, or something like that.

I'm willing to bet that all the extra weight from a full tank easily offset whatever gains you got from the couple degrees timing

Dood!
I always run a full tank, passenger seat, spare tire and Jack. Remember, we've been over this.
I am faster with a full tank.

Was cleaning out my garage, looking for stuff I can sell to fund my motor, MS3, spare diff/axles, control arms and slicks.
I came across this and was about to post it on Craigslist when I thought, there are some rotor heads on here. So, if anyone reading my build thread wants this in the next couple of days, pm me. Just thought I'd give you guys a chance, it goes on Craigslist by the end of the week.
Carburator desire seems unlikely here but if anyone wants it. It is a DCOE-SP50.
I figured it was a cool pic at least.

Got my recirculation setup so it will work reasonably for tomorrow, assuming we don't get rained out. Looks about as sharp as the rest of my hooptie *** engine bay fixtures.
