I guarantee you if Ted Cruz had stayed in Texas and was shoveling a sidewalk or feeding a puppy instead of going to Mexico, the media STILL would have slammed him, saying what he was doing doesn't show he actually cares, but just trying to score political points. Cruz was damned either way.

 

I'll be honest, the coverage of Cruz truly has been baffling to me. Literally the first thing I questioned was "Is it possible this trip was planned?". I'm not quite sure what everyone would have expected him to do in this situation, go volunteer time at a power plant to help restore power?

Then on the other hand, our mayor here in Denver was preaching on and on last Thanksgiving about making sure everyone stays in, don't travel, social distancing, blah, blah, blah. Then the dude gets caught at the airport traveling to Mississippi an hour after tweeting to everyone to stay home....

But that's completely different. He's not the governor nor violating his own decries. and he has no power to fix the power.

A liberal state governor is caught hiding the high number of nursing home deaths that resulted from his order, and using his position to threaten someone should they expose it.

Cruz's job is to represent the interests of the State of Texas in the US Senate in regards to legislation.
Infrastructure and emergency response is the responsibility of state governors.

You only think the way you do because you were told to think that way. There's why you never came in here and posted about Newsome or the other governors who violated their own orders. Cruz violated nothing. He was free to travel to Cancun for the day.

And honestly, when someone with such a clear ignorance of their indoctrination and fundamental misunderstanding of the layered structure of government tells me I'm beyond help, I know I'm perfectly A-OKAY.


This also happened on the same day President Biden called a lid at 8am -- I live 25miles from him and I drove to work and worked 8 hours.
