"Apologies - you can't refuse to pay the tax; typo. The only effect of not complying with the mandate is that you pay the tax."

Hell of a typo to make.

What? I have a feeling this doesn't mean what I want it to mean.

The Court holds that the mandate violates the Commerce Clause, but that doesn't matter b/c there are five votes for the mandate to be constitutional under the taxing power.

In opening his statement in dissent, Kennedy says: "In our view, the entire Act before us is invalid in its entirety."

So the penalty is paying the tax? Or must one pay the tax and an additional penalty for refusing this garbage?

I seriously thought this bs was going to be smack down :(

it's more like you have a new tax to pay, UNLESS, you happen to get insurance in which you technically get a tax deduction.

Roberts screwed up. He said, "You don't mean the Commerce Clause, you mean a TAX, right?" In side-stepping judicial activism, he became one.

The silver lining is that since this is now a tax--the largest tax ever levied on the middle class--it can be defeated in Congress by a simple majority, not a super majority.

There are so many lies, so many closed-door meetings, so many midnight votes and so many 3AM document dumps that took us to this point. Nancy Pelosi and Obama would have us think it was all in the name of fairness and decency. You don't need to slink around during dark of night to do decent things.

There is a difference between restricting what you say and how you say it. That clip above is a perfect example. There was absolutely no reason to throw that f-bomb into the interview.

Crassness is apparently the norm for those who feel the need to protest.

Right, because that's okay.

I have absolutely no problem being polite and extremely careful of my words in public. But, when I'm with my friends and we are walking around downtown, it turns into a ---- storm and usually ends in public urination and captured on a phone. If I really have to worry about getting a fine because I said "****" in a group of friends walking around late night, I will ------- lose my mind.

From Le Facebook.

Ben Steinhaus shared a link.
If this is what we ask for then why are there so may entitlement programs for people that don't work hard and aren't responsible. And why do you continue to nurse these people with your handouts. Welfare, healthcare, free cell phones, energy and utilities... Seriously, whats next?

Pattern Principle ‎"What is true, just, and beautiful is not determined by popular vote. The masses everywhere are ignorant, short-sighted, motivated by envy, and easy to fool. Democratic politicians must appeal to these masses in order to be elected. Whoever is the best demagogue will win. Almost by necessity, then, democracy will lead to the perversion of truth, justice and beauty."

Hans-Hermann Hoppe

Ben Steinhaus In this case "popular" is receiving goods and services for "free". Unfortunately everyone that is expecting these handouts is just putting the burden of payment for these goods and services on the people that are making responsible decisions and are working hard to get by. Why is it my responsibility to provide for a man and his family when he is fully capable of working and providing for his own family? Because growing his own food is beneath him? Because he went to college and received his degree in business and there are no jobs in business available? Because he was not responsible enough financially to have a savings in case he lost his job? I think Darwin has something to say here.

"In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment."
-Darwin
By propping up those that are leaches on our society we continue to make ourselves weaker, less successful, and more vulnerable.

Default real unemployment 14.2%

June Job Numbers Low: 80,000 New Jobs Added, Unemployment Rate Unchanged | Business | TIME.com

So:
-- 80,000 jobs added (which will be revised down next week), with one third of the jobs coming from temp agencies
-- About 300,000 new jobs are needed just to stay even with population growth and new folks--the legal ones we know about--coming into the work force
-- real jobless rate is 14.9%, blacks have risen to 14.2%, and the big Obama voters (women) have 780,000 fewer jobs than Bushitler
--that stringy-haired liberal Debbie Wasserperson Shultz will trumpet that we've had 23 straight months of job growth.

Now we just have to figure out how Scrappy Jack will spin this into a positive chart.
