If it actually does happen, then the important story will be the fact that the DOJ is prosecuting a six year old hush-money payment made to a prostitute, rather than anything relevant to the fairly serious crimes which the present administration seems to be complicit in.
I think 'fairly serious' is understating the issue. The current administration is accused of treason against the united states with not one but two hostile florigen governments with significant evidence of the same available for anyone to look at in the public domain.

He downgraded 52% of felony crimes to misdemeanors in 2022. He ran his campaign on changes to the law that allows cash bail for violent crimes. Days after taking office, he released a "Day One" memo to staff directing them to downgrade certain felonies, including armed robberies of commercial businesses, and to no longer seek jail time for many serious offenses. All of this occurring while crime in NY was up over 27%.
I do, in all seriousness, have to question whether the folks present pushing in this direction truly appreciate the fact that they're proposing to turn Trump into a martyr. Putting him into prison virtually guarantees that he'll win the '24 general election.
I'm curious as to why peasants are sending their money to a former leader whose personal net worth is somewhere in the range of $2 to $3 billion dollars.
And, yes, as the copywriter I probably would have phrased that as "...wrongly predicted..."
