3 years is a long time in politics but I think cooler heads will prevail by then. I think Christie has enough 'baggage' to prevent his being nominated but look to the more moderate part of the party (Kasich, others) for a nominee. Not sure if the world is ready for another Bush even though he probably has the most experience.

Money will again prevail and basically tell the right to 'go away'.... that is if someone like Boehner (a joke IMO) could grow a set of *****.

Agreed. The balance of power is WAY off in Washington, with librarians and the EPA making laws based on the power abdicated to them by Congress. Again, federal government is FAR too big. Knock it back by 2/3rds.

Controversy Over 5th-Grader’s Religion Speech « CBS Tampa

“She started talking to me about how she thought my speech wasn’t appropriate for 4th and 5th graders and she thought that probably I would have to rewrite my speech, take the religion out or not compete,” Golob-Drake explained to WFLA.

He told her that he would need to think about it at home. There is a brief paragraph on the Crusades, Genghis Khan and the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 in his speech. He ends it by encouraging the “Golden Rule,” saying that it would “make the world a better place.”

“She said to me probably the fairest thing to do is to take your ribbon,” Golob-Drake said.

Zero tolerance laws in effect. It sounds to me like the administration had zero ability to use judgment in this case, short of lying to cover for the kid.

hey, he volunteered the information. this is like how our police force does their job...

"doing the right thing" would have been not telling people you are breaking the law.

I almost never watch the news any more, and even more rarely watch MSNBC. Does she always have that obnoxious lisp?

^^^ That's especially funny because my original post said something like, "Does she always have that obnoxious lisp, or only when she's faking emotion?"

Default Lying liars

The really funny thing is that Mr. Maddow might just be the most sane person as MSNBC. I think they have four viewers at this point. Four DUMB viewers. This is the latest lie they've tried to pass:

California Legislators Introduce Bill To Banish NSA - US News and World Report

A bipartisan team of California state senators introduced legislation Monday that would prohibit the state and its localities from providing "material support" to the National Security Agency.

If the bill becomes law, it would deny NSA facilities access to water and electricity from public utilities, impose sanctions on companies trying to fill the resulting void and outlaw NSA research partnerships with state universities.

They're considering this in Utah, sight of the mega data collection center. Without power or water to cool the computers, game over.

How about this?

^Couldn't the Feds then just pass a law requiring utility service to intelligence agencies, overriding the state law, and exposing this for the time wasting grandstanding that it is?

Or threaten highway funding?

Or threaten education funding?

Or any of the other ways in which the Feds coerce states into complying?
