MBTA Buses Get Live Video Technology « CBS Boston
BOSTON (CBS) — Homeland Security in Washington DC has awarded the MBTA about $7 million to outfit buses with the latest in live video technology.
Sophisticated new 360-degree lenses embedded in the ceilings and walls of the buses will now capture everything. And on some buses, there will even be flat screens for passengers to see what is going on.
“I think it’s great, anything that makes the public feel safer,” one woman told WBZ-TV.
Another said “the images are pretty clear. I did not think they were going to be that clear..”
There is no audio but there are also cameras on the exterior of the buses.
The system cost $6.9 million, all paid for by Homeland Security. Right now, about 10 buses are outfitted but by the summer, more than 225 will have these sophisticated cameras.
Eighty transit police cruisers will also soon have touch screens, so officers can look live right into a bus that they may be following.

Obamacare got you down for midterms? Never fear, he's one way to capture a new market of Obama voters:
Holder: State Laws That Bar Felons From Voting Are
Holder: State Laws That Bar Felons From Voting Are
Holder said state laws that bar felons from voting are “not only unnecessary and unjust, they are also counterproductive” because they perpetuate the “stigma and isolation imposed on formerly incarcerated individuals,” increasing the likelihood that they will commit future crimes.

"That excess heat generated by all this warm water is destabilizing this gigantic bucket of cold air... So that's the irony, that heating could cause gigantic storms of historic proportions," the prof explained.
This was all because of global warming, Rose insisted.

Student apologizes for emailing pic of Obama kicking a door | The Daily Caller
A student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada was forced to issue a formal apology for emailing a picture of President Obama kicking open a door–all because some students thought the image was somehow racist.
The image was actually an edited .gif, and was shown by Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” last fall. It humorously suggests that the president may be fed up with press conferences. McGill student Brian Farnan, vice president of the university’s student government, sent out an email with the .gif and the harmless caption, “Honestly midterms get out of here,” according to Legal Insurrection.
What happened next is almost unbelievable: Another student issued a formal complaint against Farnan for committing a “micro-aggression.”For those not up-to-date on the PC lexicon, “micro-aggression” is the latest phrase of choice for leftist radicals seeking to blame racism for common annoyances suffered by people of all races. Minority activists at the University of Michigan, for example, have insisted that trivial slights, such as “Having your opinion second-guessed in a group assignment,” are micro-aggressions that betray the campus as a hostile place for students of color.

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union, long an institution in the American automotive industry, may no longer focus on automobile workers in the wake of its stunning rejection by Volkswagen workers last week in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Instead, the union may consider shifting more resources to areas where it has had success in organizing workers in the past few years, such as government, casinos, and higher education.

Hollywood asks California to cut taxes for the film industry | The Daily Caller
I love it when liberals have to resort to conservative principles.
Film Works, an entertainment-industry advocate organization, recently launched an online petition asking California’s film and TV enthusiasts to lobby lawmakers to create greater incentives for production to stay within state borders.
While operating costs in California have grown more expensive over the past decade, other states and countries have established film tax credits in an effort to bring production to their territory.

Liberal Education:
School Textbook Calls Reagan Sexist, Slams Conservatives
The sister of the mom above also had issues with finding out who the father of her baby was. She had the state take a blood test of potential fathers. Based on the information in this table, why was the baby taken away by the state after the test?
“What are they teaching… what is… I couldn’t come up with the words,” Basaj told WDIV. “I was like, 'oh my God.' It’s teaching them that it’s OK to not know who it is because you can have the state help ya. And if they can’t help you they are going to take your child away, and it’s not the way it is. I was beyond fired up last night.”
School Textbook Calls Reagan Sexist, Slams Conservatives
A sophomore at the University of South Carolina was shocked recently to find a school textbook presenting as fact the claims that Ronald Reagan was a sexist and that conservatives think people are incapable of charity and those on welfare are "lazy."
The book also claims that rich people find that having poor people around is "useful" because it allows them to have a class of people to "look down on."
The textbook, written by Karen K. Krist-Ashman and used in a course titled "Introduction to Social Work Profession and Social Welfare," was first reported by Campus Reform on February 16.
In one part, Krist-Ashman's text teaches students about "Conservative Extremes in the 1980s and Early 1990s" and claims that Reagan "ascribed to women primarily domestic functions" while refusing to appoint women to important positions during his presidency.
It seems Krist-Ashman isn't aware that Reagan appointed the first female Justice of the Supreme Court, Sandra Day O'Connor. Nor is she aware of Jeane Kirkpatick, who served as Reagan's national security advisor, served in his cabinet, and became the first female ambassador to the UN. This is not to mention the many women he appointed to the various federal courts. In fact, Reagan appointed some 1,400 women to high-level, policy-making positions during his eight years in Washington.
Student Anna Chapman of USC was disgusted to find this biased treatment that Reagan, Republicans, and conservatives were given in her required reading. "I can not even tell you how angry I was when I read that," she told Campus Reform.
The textbook charges that conservatives have a "pessimistic view of human nature," and they insist that humans are "self-centered, lazy and incapable of true charity."
This is an interesting charge given the findings of several polls that have discovered that conservatives give more money to charity than do liberals.
The book also claims rich people like poor folks to do dangerous or menial jobs and that "poor people can do the 'dirty work' for rich people that the latter don’t want to do." The text also states "having a poor social class emphasizes that the wealthy are higher in the social structure... and allows them to look down on classes below them."
This is the sort of progressive propaganda being foisted on students as fact instead of the biased opinion it really is.

Broward Teacher Arrested For Forcing Child To Clean Dirty Urinal « CBS Miami
CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) – A Broward County charter school teacher is facing battery charges after she allegedly forced a 10-year-old student to clean a dirty urinal that she thought the student clogged, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.
Jennifer Forshey, who teaches third grade at Broward Community Charter School West, according to the school’s website, is accused of battery on a child by exposing the child to urine.
According to the arrest report, Forshey accused a 10-year-old boy of clogging the drain in a urinal in the boys bathroom on day last week. Police say she ordered the boy to use his hands to remove the paper towels filled with urine from unknown students.
“Victims hands were saturated in what smelled like urine from the urinal and the paper towel that was in the urinal,” the police report reads.
The student told police Forshey did not provide him with any safety equipment to clean the urinals. The student also said there was no soap in the bathroom to clean his hands.
Investigators interviewed Forshey and she admitted to the allegations and showed no remorse, according to the police report. “She only thinks what she did was wrong because she is in trouble for it. Otherwise, she does not see anything wrong with exposing a child to urine,” the report reads.
CBS 4 News called the owners of the school, the Leona Group. They told us they cannot comment.

No scientific evidence of man-made global warming | The Daily Caller
Co-founder of Greenpeace says that there is no causal connection between CO2 emissions and the 2 degree C climb in average global temperature over the last 100 years, that we're living in a cold and CO2-lean period in Earth's geological history, and that an increase in temperature would be beneficial to humanity.

Last, I love how the clip says that "the Canadian government" pays for 70% of their Medicare...I wonder where they get their money?
