Anyone watching the new Ken Burns documentary? Episode 1 & 2 did a great job of showing the prelude to, and mistakes made that got us into that mess.

have any of you even read his work, or watched anything he's ever said ever? He's been doing college tours for many years now, much before people started throwing money at him.
I tried to read that huffpuff story, but couldn't get past alt-right.
what more rights do lgbts need? he's a speaker for everyone;s rights...

If I say no does that make me sound closed minded? As we all understand we're not going to agree with 100% of people 100% of the time. I have not read any of Rush Limbaugh's or Ann Coulter's stuff either. Debating sounds like a good way to share opinions and possibly change your own and/or compromise, but at the same time there's a lot of patting each other on the back and digging in heels. If in your own mind you have 'approved' someone then you're likely to listen to what they have to say and agree with them. But if you already know you don't like them, there's a good chance you don't care what they have to say.
Despite him over and over and over again, denouncing, and even suing publications in order to have his name cleared.
for example:
Facebook Post
He left London to become an american citizen because free speech, and being British, is being outlawed there. He was mortified to find how just as bad it is here and how much Americans want be be like ****-hole EU countries. Americans should be mortified.

You might be right. Things are not black and white by any means. Independent or Libertarian or Conservative speakers might give a speech that makes total sense and I am in 100% agreement with. I don't really care about party lines. I am opposed to war and opposed to racism. Now you might not hear people getting on the podium and saying they are pro-war and pro-racism, but that is in fact what we have, whether it's indirect or hidden as something else. People don't really talk about slavery. Class separation is another one. Do you like having people with golf course lawns and 1000x+ the income of other people passing down this wealth through nepotism to their children while many others pay the poor tax and struggle to get by? My opinion is to take those people down a notch - however you want to slice that it doesn't matter no need to complicate it. Sorry to break it to you but voting to cut all the taxes on corporations is not going to make you part of the 1%. I'm not referring to people that work their asses off for 100 or 200k a year but I digress. What you consider to be fair and right and by the rules might not be the same as the next person's take on it.
just a reminder: when you vote for a democrat, you're voting for class separation and slavery. you're also making a lot of white people rich at the expense of blacks and other minority groups that never seem to succeed...
What you said here reminds me of the chapter "The Age of Envy" out of Return of the Primitive.
You want to insult people for SNAP and welfare, why don't you study the lineage of how a person was brought to this country and abused and tortured and jailed and now we have a huge prison system. You want to blame this person for what happened to them?
What happens is things are erased from history books and twisted and skewed and young people don't even know what it is that they think they believe in or are fighting for.
A big chunk of racists probably haven't even seen 'foreigners' let alone lived with them.
Not that all racists can be 'saved,' just like not all prisoners can be 'saved.' Oh I'm sorry slavery is old and people need to get over it (sarcasm obviously). And then, you have people that plainly support oppression. This is completely obvious, at least to some of us. I'm talking about the blatant bigotry that has had front stage in media/politics for a while now. This is all much bigger than one person but if we're going to pick someone - Trump is on record saying all kinds of disgusting things against women and against minorities and against immigrants. He would appear to be some world class despicable scum. But how many people are a fan of this guy? Both the fans that don't acknowledge some of his bad actions, and the fans that are fans of his bad actions. Some things are difficult to debate. You are not going to convince me that bombing the middle east will ever be a good thing. Bombing anyone. I am diametrically opposed, yin and yang.

A judge Friday sentenced former Vanderbilt University football player Cory Batey to 15 years in prison, but said the man’s true punishment for raping an unconscious woman three years ago was a life sentence.

In prior court hearings, prosecutors have acknowledged a racial statement was made but it was never said publicly in court.
On Friday, multiple sources confirmed to The Tennessean the statement Batey made. “That’s for 400 years of slavery you b----,” Batey said, according to the sources.
