That's the same reasoning as "we should prohibit people working on their own cars, and only licensed mechanics should be allowed to work on cars at all..."

You're of the Statist mentality that the gov't has the power to pass any law it deems as "for the common good", and it doesn't matter that it puts a crimp on the freedom of some individuals.

You can't have freedom unless you're willing to give it away.

I main reasoning......

I think this is the best method to maximize the tax revenue. Allow unrestricted growing and I think there will be a large loss of tax revenue. Then again, maybe not. People can grow their own tobacco, but still buy cigarettes.

The best way to maximum tax revenue is to decrease gov't spending.

Yeah....Not really the same though. Tobacco is kind of hard to grow, where as any idiot can grow pot. Plus you would need a lot of tobacco plants to offset most habits and marijuana grows faster and is used less in a gross crop comparison per active user of each.

Well...too bad California missed this opportunity to stand up for state's rights. Their vote on the issue at hand, but I was really looking forward to seeing how it went over with our so called Federal government.

The (*&^%$#@ stoners were too lazy to go out and vote!

If this were up for a vote when Obama was running, and all the young people went out to vote due to anger against the Republicans, this would have passed!

Anyone associated with growing or the distribution of the medicine also voted against it to protect their business.

HB 2306!!

The intention is to eliminate the federal penalties for cannabis and allow the states to decide their own regulations.
