that innovate 3882 is $304 on Jet.com

LC-2 with no gauge is $150, so for another $150 i have boost gauge and EBC. not that bad, if you figure $150 wideband w/gauge + $150 for boost gauge.

or its preferred that MS2E does the EBC stuff by controlling the solenoid, thus easier adjustments and tuning?

UEGO is like $160 and mtx-l is about the same. Megasquirt ebc stuff is $60 plus some soldering time. Add a cheap mechanical boost gauge. Now you have more cash for injectors! And yes, the trackspeed injectors are the ones that get recommended all the time.

I prefer it that way, it gives you more control. There's boost by throttle position and other things you won't be able to use with that gauge.

Make sure whatever protocol that thing runs is the same as what the digtal input expects, should be the same still I imagine.

I still think you can find a cheaper gauge, even combo setup. There's a few projects based on some little can chip and arduino, I plan on doing one of those eventually.

update:

I returned the tacotaco manifold, because the T3 turbo will not fit.

so i am taking a different directions and likely going with the MK kit from Lars.

in other news, HKS SSQV BOV and intercooler (27*5.5*2.5") came in today.

not bad for a $55 bov and $61 intercooler.

Basically he needs to just do exactly what was done in this build thread. Then he can profit all day long.

So i changed my mind again, MK turbo kit is on back order till spring... so i went in a different direction.

FM 2.5" Downpipe and Midpipe. got a great deal from the MT classifieds.
For now it will mate to my RB exhaust rear section.

I am still trying to be cheap, so i ordered the T25 TacoTaco manifold and a .48AR GT25 turbo (Chinacharger).
They didnt come in yet, so no pics.

If this manifold wont work with the FM downpipe, ill just get an FM cast manifold.

Innovate SCG-1 Gauge (Boost, Wideband AFR and Boost controller) all in one.

Universal eBay CXRACING 2.25" intercooler piping and a 3" U pipe for intake

Also ordered Flow Force EV14 610cc injectors.

I am still waiting for mslabs MS2E to come in.

The turbo bits wont be installed for about a month or so, i am doing the build in the following order:

1. Install Innovate wideband
2. install MS2E and get it running as is.
3. install ev14 injectors, program MS2 and get it running good.
4. install turbo bits and tune tune tune.

eBay GT25 .48AR turbo came in.

GT25 Turbo

Looks pretty solid and good quality for a Chinacharger. but what do i know? this is the first turbo i have ever held in my hands.

Isn't the inlet on a t2 smaller, so considering the same AR the housing is a lot smaller.

Looks a lot smaller, are you sure the specs are the same?

63mm turbine wheel 53mm turbine wheel.
.48 T3 turbine housing .49 T25 turbine housing

and I personally doubt the specs on the compressor wheel, I bet it's really 54mm, not 60mm. If it's actually correct, then this is pretty much a 2560 turbo (or T28)...

...with a REALLY REALLY REALLY tiny turbine A/R.

OK so its a different flange.

I am talking about the AR specs and compressor/turbine wheel specs, which are very similar. so should yield similar power outputs no??

I dont mean they are 100% the same turbos, but performance wise should be pretty close, as the specs seem very close.

but like i said, what do i know, i am a noob.

if this turbo is too small and wont get me to 230ish hp, i can get the .64AR, they are only $200.

no. performance wise they will be very different.

If the compressor wheels are actually the same size that's good, but the turbine is very small on that thing, not just the wheel, but the inlet size.

it's going to spool fast and not have the same top-end potential.

consider that a T25 .63 A/R = a T3 .48 A/R
