Are you saying the duratec weighs 100lbs less than the 1.6? I did some searching, but could not find weights.

Yes, very close to it, according to some numbers I found on the net. Of course its hard to be sure because it could have been dressed vs. undressed, manifolds vs no manifolds etc.

Regardless, I am totally inclined to believe that number because the duratec is all-aluminum and has a plastic intake manifold.
