GT25 and GT28 spool
I'm currently researching on exactly what trim to get on a T25 turbocharger. The T25G off of SR20DET powered S13s seems like a great option so far, and they are not that hard to get a hold of. Maybe a bit too expensive though. They're A/R 48 on the compressor if I recall correctly, which will provide decent spool performance. All china turbos are stupidly big, so that one's practically written-off on my possibility list.
Meanwhile I've also searched into possible alternatives for a T25 manifold other than the OBX. I think you guys are right, in the end. Whatever money I spend on an OBX plus manufacturing my own manifold later, only to achieve the low pressure I want, is pointless.
I have no idea what to get instead though, almost nobody here has turbos on their Miatas, and I'm certainly not going to find any FM/Begi/HKS/Greddy any time soon around here. Unless I order them from the USA, it is a dead end. I have taken knowledge of three different companies in Europe that manufacture turbo manifolds for Miatas, so might be looking at those soon, and inquiring prices.
Since I don't really know, I might as well ask: Is there any performance disadvantage to getting a cast manifold, compared to a tubular?
Yes, I know... Huge post. Sorry! :(

This is what I go by. Do it right the first time. It usually ends up costing the same or more if you go cheap. It usually breaks and then replacing it or repairing what it damaged can cost more. I don't have much turbo experience but that's how I go about modding my car in general.
unless you're building your motor who cares about the performance differences between cast and tubular.
this ebay manifold is t3 and seems to generally be accpeted as ok.

it's for 1.6's only though.

maybe you can get strovo to make you a manifold, he's in europe, and his stuff looks pretty good. He like the mistu turbos, and for journal bearing turbos I like them more than the garrett offerings. IMO a td04 of any flavor would be perfect for what you want.
