Default Here's the MX-3 I traded the Civic for.

I think my Miata wheels look better on this car. I bought 16s for the Miata that are 1/2 the weight of those 17" so they went on the 3. The turbo, dp housing and downpipe are from the Probe. Manifold is from a 323 GTX. Running 5.5psi on no engine management other then 6deg base timing and 280cc Probe injectors. Apperently the maf has some headroom. Lets see how long this holds up. Total cost $230 and the PVC is back! I'll fix that this spring when I put an intercooler in it.

Yeh it is. I forgot how small they are. That's the same turbo I used on my first diy Miata setup. But it spools quick.

I believe it is. I don't think the 1.6L in here is the same as the Miata and GTX 1.6L. It's some B6 variant (B6F?). Alot of it is the same but the block casting is different -I think-. The oil pan is 2 pieces. It has an aluminum skirt. Also this engine had 212cc injectors in it. What did the B6 Miata have 190s?

The charge pipe isn't hitting the battery. That's all temporary anyways. I needed it to drive the car. =)

Thanks guys. It's my gas saving daily driver. 32mpg up from 30 with the turbo. Go figure. The Civic was automatic and OBD-2. It was easier to do the 3 plus it's stick. The guy traded me even up. His gf couldn't drive stick. I also wired up cruise control that I grabed from a v6 3 at the junkyard. That was a pain in the ***. On the manual 3s there is a transistor in the instrument panel that causes the brake indicator light to light up when you turn the key to start. That transistor had a resistor from base to ground which caused the cruise to think the clutch was depressed. The cruise normally sees that ground thru the starter solinoid to deactivate when you press the clutch. It took awhile to figure it all out.
On another note, Check out this 83,000mi Nissan Maxima I picked up. To make conversation... My friend was moving to Florida and on his way to get a Uhaul and a dolly, he rear ended an SUV. He gave me the car. =) I don't have many before pictures but it was bad. A relay box with 7 relays was pinched between the core support and the battery and more or less exploded on impact into 1000 pieces alone with the airbox assembly. I've rewired in a new relay box, replaced the airbox, and welded in the core support. It's drivable now but I still need a hood and bumper cover. This is my first attempt at any major body work. My first time spot welding sheetmetal with the mig too. That pic is kinda hard to see. It's easy after all. I'm going to sell this car once it's done. Anyone like Maximas?

I was mocking the past I guess. I'm glad someone got a chuckle out of it. =)

O2s must be ok. No CEL so far. The struts are toast. That's the only bad thing. It already has new front brakes, axles, and 4 tires though. I know because I did all the work last summer. lol

Tim muh man! How goes it?

cjernigan: Yeh I keep checking the yards but no white ones yet. I'll hold out for the same color so I don't have to have it painted.

good call on waiting for the right color parts, it is worth the wait, especially since you dont have anything in the car, i used to do that for a living (fix up cars)
struts dont last on maximas, mine rides like a boat
i had to change 3 02s on mine, but its been good lately, lol

The 3 looks great, just like tha maxima.

All you people with daily drivers that are great on gas.... My daily gets 15-17mpg on the freeway. It sucks but, it's fun to drive and not that old, it's good looking and it's also a Mazda.
