OIL PUMPS GALORE!!! Machining
It looks like Pro/E
I would imagine a ring and pinion set up would be a lot more difficult than the oil pump. To do the oil pump i need a special machine, not special tooling set up and thats where alot of initial cost will be.

i volunteer to try it out in my car since i'm already in the market for an oil pump... if it works i'll pay what a new one would cost me... if it doesn't, no problem.... atleast it will aid you in further research.

The drawings are at the machinist. I am waiting for an estimate. Sorry I have updated. We just finished our busy season and I was in vegas to celebrate being done.
As soon as I hear from the machinist I will let you guys know.

if you'd like to email me a copy of the drawing, I'll take it to Downing Atlanta and try to get some run. ben at mazmart dot com
got the quote back, were looking at 305 per gear per set of 10. Im sorta disappointed by the price. I think there are some features we can remove from the drawings, but for exact copies we are looking at 305 a gear (plus shipping)
email me the drawings and I'll hand it to the race shop at Downing Atlanta, the parent company of where I work.
In the end of August, I could check out with the teachers of machining course of the school where I did my welding course. It could be far less expensive than a machine shop.
Holy ****!!! It is still better then the alternative though.
What is making it cost so much, the cryo and/or shot peeining, or the actual machining?
Let's get more quotes for sure as per Ben. Think we can get at least 20 people in? I'll bust my *** trying to get more, like 30-40 at least if we can get this thing off the ground.

just pick any machine shop and ask them. we use www.copeseticinc.com
email tony@copeseticinc.com, tell him you heard of him from Matt @ NVIS, tell him what you want and send the drawings. They might be reasonable.
