'....basically have...' from Stephanie might fall a bit short of 'awesome' by your standards. A DSM is basicaly an Evo in some people's estimation. Basically is a tricky word.

Although I really dont give a crap anyway since if I were dropping coin I would get an S6 or more likely a custom setup from a member here.

Also I have seen a few people refer to "$250.00 DIY Kits" on here. How is that possible with the long list of parts needed to run effectively? Granted, I have never turboed an N/A car before...

My opinion is that it will crack.

250 bucks for a DIY? Sure. If you steal some stuff its very doable.

Cheap and relaible (on the street) and decently fast?

Used cast mani from someone going tubular.
Chinacharger.
Build your own MS.
Get a IC from wherever, ebay, used OEM etc. Buy some bends and make your own plumbing.
Used OEM BOV.
A simple water/meth system.
A local fabbed exhuast.
Your call on the clutch, I will go with a 1.6ACT setup personally.
Some injectors from an RX7.

And thats about it.

Or keep an eye out on the for sales, some sweet deals periodically there.

Read both of the linked threads all the way through. There's a lot of discussion about exactly how to brace it to maximize the time to failure.

The S4 manifold is one of the very few items we do not make in house. We did contract someone in China to make it. Supposedly, his brother in law stole the design, copied it, and that is what you find on eBay. Either way, knowing we were dealing with the unethical Chinese market, we did not have it made in it's final form. We do take the manifold, add the EGR, resurface it, and upgrade a few other things. So will the e-bay one work, sure, but not for long.

No manifold support - I guarantee it will crack, somewhere, within 500 miles. Small studs will break and/ or stretch. No EGR either. You can add it, but it will cost you.

Similar statements to the other thread. Sounds like they get the parts in and touch up the worst of the obvious QC pitfalls. Re-melt any really embarrassing welds, grind the flanges flat, etc. If you look at all the pictures on Begi's site and all the pictures on Ebay, there is no obvious difference in workmanship.

EGR is something a lot of customers don't care about, and that's different on different years of 1.8. It would make no sense for the factory to build four different versions of the manifold to cover the variations.

The brace Begi sells is basically an adjustable end link, but they charge $150 for it, where Emilio charges $80 for a pair of end links. Or you can buy a few parts and a couple tools and make your own for about $30.

Ok, so if you wonder where i got my awesome post from in here, youtube vtec song and you will laugh, promise. As for the chinese knock offs, chinese people, in general, not all, have no buisness ethics what so ever, and will tell you anything to get you to buy something. They will straight rip off designs, then cut corners, say their products are the same, and leave you walking away with a swollen back side. My wife designs dresses, that's how i know. So please buy some chinese knock off piece of crap, and keep us rolling at your expense. Then go buy a shanghai s, which ironically is centered around a chinese knock off, and have a fun car, and profit.

Hence the 'for sale' comment. Sounds like a good setup.
