there is no physical difference at all between the oil pressure port on the regular blocks vs vvt.

it uses a banjo bolt into the same port as the regular blocks have the pressure sensor

You mean to tell me that the little banjo bolt that passes into the block, through the hardline, is a BSPT thread? I was in agreement thats where it attaches, but I don't know if they'd use a tapered bolt on something that was to be sealed with two crush washers. The hardline itself has a bspt port for the pressure sender.

that bolt doesn't use crush washers either. it bolts through the sandwich without them.

I suspect the 01+ blocks are a BSPP (british pipe parallel) thread, while the 90-00 blocks are BSPT (british pipe tapered).

How do you think I found out that the dog hadn't been buried yet when I was home for Christmas last year? I went into the freezer to get a popsicle for my niece, and found Lexi in a ziploc bag instead.

The local TechShop locations have mills, CNC and otherwise. Doesn't seem like it'd worth the effort, though.

Also, the nearest TechShop location to NYC appears to be... Pittsburgh. So that'd be a bit of a hike. We've got three within 50 miles of my house though.

Agreed. IDK how the heck 18psi ever got his to seal properly without those crush washers. Seems like the thread type into the block is completely irrelevant to whether or not the banjo body seals to the block and the underside of the bolt head (flange).

I've had to drill holes like that in cast iron and cast steel in the past, but it was in a full on milling machine. Its possible, but its peck-peck-peck-peck-peck-peck ad infinitum. Clearing a chip out of a hole that deep and that small a diameter with a bit that long is just asking for trouble. Not to mention trying to get chips out and coolant in at the same time. No thank you.

Now that coolant port... that may have some merit.
