In-Too-Depp Turbo Build
since i'm not an expert, and i trust my source:
i was told the weiseco had coldstart problems in whcih they will rattle...
i have weiseco on my turbo protege, and i do notice the rattleling..
i don't want to take chances with this car since it is my brothers and it's been a little hard for him to cough up the money...
so going with the supertech since this kid swears by them and as i said, i trust him.

Ahh I see. I am just use to people just doing updates just with text if no new pictures.
Hows that three point engine stand working? There is a sale down here at harbor freight. My friend is thinking of getting one for his 1.6 build. He is not a forum person so I thought I'd ask you.
this is a harbor freight one...at least it think so.
it works perfect
it has 4 points but i am only using two since i dn't have bolts big enough to hold the other two side,
at one point, these two bolts held the whole motor just fine.

Am I fucked in my thinking or should you have already had the pistons before doing the machine work? Not being a hater, just figured its better to hone to fit as opposed to hoping compounding tollerances don't bit you in the ***. Again, asking a serious question here. I am sure it is better to hone to fit, but how important is it? My thoughts are you could have piston slap (noise) when cold with any piston if the shop over honed and opened up your piston clearance? Am I wrong?

the pistons were bought per the machine shop's specs.
either way is the same
hone to fit and fit the piston to the hone...as long as the measurements stay within spec, what's the difference?
