When I start the car the fans don't come on instantly unless it was already hot. Like this morning, I started the car and after 1:00-1:30 the fans kicked on and have been on since.

I was the one that wired everything up, and although I'm not exactly a pro with electronics I seem to somehow manage. lol

Whats the chance I can change the settings in Megatune to fix this? I found a thread yesterday and Brain was talking about the setting the fans on/off temperatures with some +40 number thrown in there. Anyone have an idea of what exactly I'm supposed to change?

This is a MSPNP BTW. Thanks hoes!

Maybe try replacing the radiator cap? it's a cheap part, but if it won't hold pressure in the system then you'll likely get overheating issues.

I'm just getting my Roadster back on the road after hmmm... 15months , and yeah, my brake discs were shot too, and there's like 100 little jobs to do on it, but reading your thread has helped encourage me to get it finished... christ I miss that car

Man it feels so good to be back in this car. I actually enjoy driving again! lol

The cooling system seems to be good again. Only issue is the fans are coming on and staying on. I changed the settings for them like suggested in another thread, but they're still on quite a bit. Even when the car isn't that hot they turn on. Its not like they're keeping it from overheating, I don't think. lol

I just found out what the smoke I've been seeing is. Popped the hood and tightened up everything just a hair more and then I saw it. The ******* K&N filter is melting on the turbo inlet. Either that or the high temp paint I put on the inlet is. I wiped it down and put it back together so I can see if it keeps doing it or not. If it doesn't it must have been the paint, if it still does then its the filter. Never had this problem before.

Since it looks like we'll be moving soon I figured I'd take a few last shots before we go. I'll miss the property here, but that's about all I'll miss. lol

The car has been running like a ******* champ the past couple weeks. The exhaust still rubs and needs to be fixed, the car is in desperate need of an alignment and there's a little bodywork that needs tuned up. Otherwise all seems well and its officially back to DD status.

Although I plan on parking it at the shop again on Monday and pulling off the front bumper, hood and hardtop to start sanding them down. My bodyshop buddy next door to our shop is leaving the following Monday for good, so time is pressing. He's gonna show me what to do and when they're ready he'll spray them.

This morning I went to a job to strip off the forms with 2 guys and get them loaded in the truck before the storm hit. We ******* finished JUST in time.

Once we got back to the shop it was pouring heavy rain so I got right on the miata and tore the front apart. I spent the better half of the afternoon wetsanding the headlight buckets and hood. Tomorrow we should be spraying them, but that could change depending on a few things. I also might do the hardtop too, but I havent decided yet. I want to take advantage of the body shop next door before he leaves, which is any day now.

Once I get the exterior put back together then its on to finishing the interior. Then it just needs to get aligned and have the exhaust cut and re-welded, then I'm officially done on this **** of a car for awhile. lol

Headlight buckets and hood are painted. I still want to have the hardtop done, but unfortunately its going to have to wait. He needs to have everything out of the shop by Thursday night, so I'm lucky he even fit this in for me.

I'll probably put it back together tomorrow and then setup an appointment to have the exhaust cut, repositioned and welded back together. Then it just needs the alignment and a few other small odds and ends that I should be able to take care of.

I might see if the guy that works for my buddy wants to fix the interior for me. Maybe I'll throw him $100 or something to do it. Should only take him a few hours tops. I just dont really have the time to fool with it myself.

Thanks man! This is the first year I drove the car as much as I have been. I've actually been ok with parking it for a day or two from time to time. lol

Since the paint was fresh on the hood and headlights, my buddy down at the detail shop let me use his bay to do a FULL service. We washed it, polish/clay bar and waxed it. I even cleaned all the door deals/jams this time!

The car is already dirty again, but at least it has a fresh coat of wax on it for the rest of the year. I still have to take care of the exhaust and a few odds and ends, but other than that its been good to me thus far.

I took it out last night to meet up with a few guys from NY to go to the weigh station and see what our numbers were. I came in the lightest by 500-600lbs at 2700lbs. Then a K9 state trooped showed up and kicked us out.

The picture of inside the shop shows the daily, the work truck and the toy. 1 more car and I'll have both bays filled.

What information am I missing? That seems excessively heavy, even for turbo stuff, rollbar, and hardtop. Scale calibration off?

I was thinking the same. Rollbar, turbo stuff, bigger exhaust, hardtop and LOTS of dynamat. lol

Even still I think I should be lighter than 2700. Maybe the scale is off.

Something must be off. You've dumped all the accessories and you have a 1.6 tub which is already 100lbs lighter than the 1.8 tub. I don't see dynamat adding a few hundred pounds, lol.

Rollbar = maybe 75lbs
Hardtop = ?
Turbo stuff = Maybe 100lbs?
Exhaust, eh = +50lbs to be SUPER conservative

You're looking at +225lbs without the hardtop (which can't be much more than 100lbs, if that), so 325 total. Add that to a 2200lb chass, you're still way under 2700.

Steel beam they welded in the front of the car for me doesn't help any.

Audio related parts not including the dynamat (dvd deck, subs, amp, etc).

Plus I probably have at least 40-50lbs of tools and spare parts in the trunk.

Its possible I guess.

Subs + amp is maybe 50lbs if you have a heavy box. I was surprised when I weighed the one that I pulled out of my car. But that and the tools would add 100lbs, maybe some other little odds 'n ends (wheels/tires, brakes, swaybars, etc) could bring you up to that.

If you were down here we could throw you on my brother's scales for an accurate "competition" weight :P

You guys should have brought a bone stock car with you to figure out how much the scale was off by.

This is a weigh station, right? Wouldn't that be something if the scale was reading over? Wouldn't hurt the state's coffers if they had to fine a few extra trucking companies for exceeding the weight limits, would it?
